Power Outage Cuts Spears Concert Short-CNN.com

A power failure ended a Britney Spears concert after two songs Friday night.

Spears used pyrotechnic effects and explosions while performing "Oops...I Did It Again" and "(You Drive Me) Crazy." Arena power and lighting worked after the failure, but Spears' stage shows require additional power.

A member of Spears' management appeared on stage with the entertainer and told the crowd the concert was canceled because of safety concerns.

"I'm just so sorry," Spears told the crowd at a Texas Tech arena, before being met with boos. "Please don't boo," she said, then walked off the stage.

Spears' tour began May 24 in Las Vegas and ends July 22 in Dallas.

LOL, this happened in my town on Friday night and I thought those little girls were going to riot! Some people camped out in 10 degree weather for their tickets back in January. I wonder if it will be rescheduled of refunded.

I was amazed to hear that Britney only performs one hour out of "her" three-hour show. The other two hours feature opening acts. Some people that attended the concert said that when Britney performed, the sound was completely inaudible in certain sections of the Arena. The opening acts were fine. I know that the Arena was built mainly for college basketball and volleyball (which is stupid), but concerts featuring Elton John and Kiss were fine. Maybe she was going to have to sing the whole hour and some people mistaked it for audio problems.

It's a sign from God. Take heed Brittney, find a new occupation...

I agree with Tom. This can only be a very healthy thing for the people at the Texas Tech arena Friday night.
