real music, by real people could be appealling to the masses! 2PAC has these qualities, this appeal and the commercial success, his fame is global ... Have we forgotten 2pac? Wasn't he great? I miss him. Apart from 2pac being a talented rapper, he was a leader and a label. I don't buy Tupac stuff, but growing up most of the people i knew were his fans and I listend to 2pac songs by them, and i always enjoyed his talent. Last night, a t.v documentary was broadcast on radio, listening to it inspired me to start this thread, people that were close to 2pac spoke impressively and i developed sympathy towards them. His spirit lives on, he passed away in 96 at the age of 25. Let's give it up for 2pac.

overrated pap, imo. i'm sorry, but all the props he's gotten and the fact that folks treat 'im as some sorta hero don't deserve any sorta praise.

It's been years ago and that was too soon. I took the one R&B station that plays current music off my dial in 1997 and never looked back. The station had already gone to the dogs years before I took it off my dial. I just wish they would change their call letters because that same station has been around since the 1970s and it's current state is destroying the memory of what used to be a slammin' station.

I doubt it. I heard enough of it when he was alive. If I want to hear a Roger and Zapp song, I will pull my old Roger and Zapp albums and play them. At least those will be funky, at the full speed of their tempo, and won't have all the "thug" "talking" nonsense on top of the music.

I can't stand that thug image but that's the least of my problem with him. His music is too slow and stripped down for me. If his music was original, from scratch, fast, and funky, I wouldn't care how big a fool he made of himself because the music could make up for it.

I can respect Madonna because she sings (not talks) over uptempo funky jams.
