THis new INXS is not sitting well with me

I'mm hearing that "vegas" song right now (which sounds like a "Devil Inside" rip-off) on launch.com and it sounds like some dude is trying to be michael hutchence with a twist of elvis.

I didn't watch the ROCKSTAR show but this is crazy...this guy needs to go do some cabaret shows or something...[b]

Well, DUH. lol The fact that they actually TRIED to replace Michael fucking Hutchence should clue everyone in on the fact that these dudes are DONE. Stick a fork in INXS.

I saw the video the other night. I don't like JD as the new singer....he seems so fake and yeah it does look like he's posing to be a rock star. I only caught a couple of episodes of that show and I didn't even like him on there.....funny you said he's tryin' to be Elvis because he was once an Elvis inpersonator lol

co-sign...Sadly I have only recently been introduced to the world of INXS (beyond Kick and the other hit singles). Still, being a new admirer, the whole RockStar thing just disgusted me. Had they decided to keep the band together, found a new singer on their own and reintroduced themselves, I may be willing to check it out. But the route they went is just reprehensible...

INXS can not be anything without Michael He was part of the package that made them what they were its just wrong and the band the other guys should choose to continue as a group they should continue with a new name and lead singer and have respect for the great band they were and let INXS rest in peace along with Michael and Paula Yates
do un2 others as they do un 2u

Yup..

The new singer is no Michael Hutchence.
Heck he isn't he half of what Michael was.

If you like Michael..check out his solo album "Michael Hutchence." It should ease your mind but also make you realize how depressed the awesome singer was. The point is..he is probably in a better place (or so I hope!).

It makes me sad to think Inxs are using their name with a new singer. I agree with whomever to start a new band. Heck, they could still do Inxs covers but ditch the name. The only reason they probably kept it was for marketing reasons.

While I do enjoy the song "Pretty Vegas" it does not measure up to anything they did with Michael Hutchence. If you want proof listen to "Kick" "X" "Full Moon Dirty Hearts" "Elegantly Wasted" or "Welcome To Wherever You Are." I bet any of those albums will totally out shine this new disc coming out by the new Inxs.

I plan to go to their concert when it comes to Kansas City with my friend (and another Inxs fan) and if they suck..well we will laugh at them.

If you have his solo disc check out "Max Q" (His side project band with some producer. Michael wrote the lyrics and song on the tracks. I hear it is awesome. It is on my holiday wish list.)

If you have that..check out the "Batman Forever" soundtrack or "Beverly Hills Cop 3" soundtrack. Batman Forever offers Michael's excellent version of "The Passenger." (It might be orignal but I didn't think it was.) Batman Forever also offers the awesome U2 song "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me." Beverly Hills Cop 3 offers a hard to find Inxs song called "Keep The Peace" it is awesome. Hutchence vocals never sounded so powerful (I think.)

If you have all of that..contact me..I have an mp3 of a song called "Let The People Talk." It was intended for Michael's solo album and it is awesome. It didn't make the final cut though.

There is plenty of Michael's work out there to last a life time. All though, I agree, Inxs should just call it quits and let the band RIP.

If they insist upon going on..they should release stuff out of their vault, or even demos. It seems they have some unreleased tracks laying around. Or release a concert DVD. Live Baby Live was a GREAT DVD. However, it is kind of dated. It lacks stuff from some of their best albums.

do y'all remember the duet he did for the LOST BOYS soundtrack? "gonna have a good time tonight?" that was a great song...

i have to say my favorite INXS song is one of their underrated singles, "Not Enough Time"

Kick is a classic..."Mystify" is my favorite track.

My favorite is the song "Don't Lose Your Head."

Something about that song just gets me moving but yet when I'm reading the lyrics - it means a lot to me for some reason.

I also love two songs that were never released. One is "Bang The Drum" (from the Bang The Drump iTunes EP.) The other song is "Tight."

Oh yeah and another under-rated great song is "Deliver Me" from the first Inxs hits CD.

I use to hate the idea of Inxs going out with Michael.
Because, Michael Hutchence is without a doubt in my book of favorite singers.
Top 3 for sure.

The thing is..I am a strong believer in dreams being a sign. Well I had a dream
that I met JD (The singer Inxs picked) at some night club, and told him, how
much I didn't like the him, but he was really friendly and nice, and he
hung out with me. I basically told him, I would give it a chance. I wouldn't
rule out the idea of liking the "new" Inxs.

Well a few days later iTunes released "Pretty Vegas." I downloaded it and
after a few listens, it became a staple on iPod regular play list.

Is it as good as the stuff Inxs did with Hutch? No way - but it works.

I'll always perfer the stuff with Michael as opposed to anything the new singer does.

However, I like what the new singer does. And he totally seems like a true fan of the band. So in that aspect - I like what he stands for.

I look at Inxs as like a journey. I think JD said this also. Rob Thomas once said to people that might not like his solo music after Matchbox Twenty, "Music is like a journey. Either you will continue on with me on my solo journey or it won't be for you. I will have enjoyed having you along with me for whatever time it lasted. Thanks for that." Something to that effect. The point being..I look at Inxs at like that. I will continue on with their journey with JD.

I will also go to their tour with my friend because it is the closet I will ever come to seeing Inxs in concert with Hutch. As I once pointed out on another message board, Seeing 5 out of 6 of the orignal members is a lot closer than 0 out of 6. See ya at the show.
