jacksons revival

orgers ,have you noticed a large amunt of interst in jackson 5,jacksons music.
many orgers seem to discover jacksons music.

my personal opinion is that michael jackson music he did with brothers is 10 times better, more soulful, funky then his solo efforts.

to my ears jacksons sound like tight funk band a musicians music, while mikes solo stuff is mostly created to satisfy general public.

p.s. ain't no sunshine by jackson 5 is probably the best ever version of that song

I'd probably have to agree. "Off The Wall" and "Thriller" are eternal classics, but Mike's greatest stuff ever was probably the Jackson 5, child solo, and Jacksons music. His voice was even at its peak on some of those records.

I agree with the consensus here. Mike's voice was best when he was young. After he grew up, he had to resort to gimmicks to keep his fame together.

I love The Jacksons but I do prefer Michael's solo efforts much much more. I'm at odds with The Jackson 5, sometimes I like the songs most of the time I just don't. I love seeing their LIVE performances but just listening to a J5 cd is not my thing.

Blame It On The Boogie & Shake Your Body are my favortie Jacksons songs, those were simply fire!!! biggrin

i agree, besides some of the album 'history' i think michael did his best work with the jacksons, not the jackson 5, but the jacksons, who i feel are severly underrated.

I was shocked when I listened to Destiny and Triump by the Jacksons and found out that these albums was just a good as Off The Wall and Thriller.
I love the Jacksons.

Three counts of "not into the Jackson 5"? disbelief Well, we've all got our own tastes, but dayum, AT LEAST pick up or re-listen to "The Ultimate Collection" and tell me those boys didn't sing some sweet-ass music. neutral

The Jackson 5/Jackson are me absolute favorite group/band of all time. They were so soulful, energetic and creative (as the Jacksons)

I do agree that The Jacksons are underated. They boys only went into the Hall as the J5,which I don't get.

Just because artist leaves a label, dosen't change them. They were the same group, just with one new brother and a new name and allowed creative control.

Both Parliament/Funkadelic are in the hall, so why not both Jackson brother groups.

i agree both bands should be in it, but i dont agree that they are the same. sure technically they are as most of the band members are the same, but the music, voice, songs, style of the bands were completely different, and squiddyren i do like the jackson 5, i have all there offical albums, im just saying i think the jacksons are far superior.

Yeah but the focus of that Disc set are teeny pop that Motown wanted them to do so not much of the funkier stuff from the Motown era is included...(and the set doesn't include anything post Motown)
