"The Gigolo" was a jam indeed! It reminds me of the roller joint in my hood, back in the day. I prefer "I'm Freaky".

I didn't know that O'Bryan did the Soul Train song. Thinkin' back though I can hear his sound. hmmm

You've been bringing it this week Andy. thumbs up!

Thanks. Just trying to liven it up and bring a little variety. Seems like every other thread these days is either Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Madonna, or rap. lol

The album version of "Soul Train's A-Comin" was the theme song for a few months back in 1983. When the 12 Inch version was released, it took it's place and remained the theme song for a few years until someone did a remake of the TSOP later on in the 1980s.

So what is O'Bryan doing now? Don't say collecting palimony from Don Cornelius either....

The only song I remember of his was the Soul Train theme. His picture was all over Right On magazine back in the day too. I'd always ask, who's he then I saw Soul Train. Great theme song, the best I've ever heard on the show. Where can we go to hear his songs? I'll probably remember one or two of the songs by hearing them. Never knew or heard about him and Don Cornelius.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

A question just to help me out here, is O'Bryan the one saying the classic " SSSSSOOOOOUUUUULLLLL Train ! ? And I haven't thought of O'Bryan in a long time, the last time I heard Gigolo in twenty years, those were the days.

I got his greatest hits off of Amazon. He also posted there a few years back, said he was working on new material. It might still be up there.

No. They add that part over all the "Soul Train" theme songs.

Yeah O'Bryan was a bad cat back in the day. He sounds a lot like Babyface to me, Even though he came on the music scene first. I liked "Gigolo" but Lovelight was the jam. I also liked "Lady I Love You".

A friend of mine told me that he and Don had somethin' goin' on when I was looking through her albums and ran across an O'Bryan album (the one with "You & I on it. Well in the 80's, men looking girlish was in so yeah its possible and its no.

Since I was born in the early '80's I don't remember his version of the Soul Train theme, but of course I was only a toddler. I defintely remember the TSOP remake though.

And didn't he do a remake of EW&F's "Be Ever Wonderful" ?
