James Brown and Crew, The Jackson Family or Prince and his Crew

I am doing a project in my music business class.

I can't choose who I want to do my project on.

James Brown and his crew from 1956' on

The Jackson family from 1969' and on

Prince and his crew from 1978' and on

Who do you all think has the more interesting story.

I was going to include P-Funk, but only about 4 people in my class know who they are. Everyone in my class knows, JB, MJ and Prince.

if u do james brown eventually you'll run into prince, p-funk, and the jacksons because he influenced them all, especially michael jackson and prince. also most of the guys in p-funk came from james' band (maceo parker, fred wesley, bootsy and phelps collins.)

diamondpearl is really on point here. Though, in my heart of hearts, I wouldn't take anyone over Prince and the Revolution or "Counter-Revolution." One cannot discount James/the JB's.

Because if they didn't create the funk, they sho'nuff did raise it right.

Go with Prince and Crew.

The world has kind of forgotten about Prince pre Musicology. It is sad! sad

I was watching a show awhile back and they showed a bunch of kids Prince picture and asked, "Do you know who this is?" Most of them thought it was Michael Jackson. Nothing against Michael cus he is my favorite singer, but just saying, they should know who Prince is.

People need to be schooled on P. Get to work! thumbs up!

thats true, but if u do james u wont get all the extra drama on pfunk, prince and the jacksons - you'll just get the musical side of it

I don't know, at first blush I'd agree with you. But James and his crew brought the funk during Jim Crow's last stand, the civil rights movement and the black pride movement. They saved entire cities from drowning in chaos and riots.

I don't disagree with you, but one can make a great argument for James/the JB's.
