grammy predictions for 06.

best new artist predctions

Fantasia
John Legend
The Killers
Gavin Degraw
Lyfe Jennings

I also Predicted that
Christina beat Britney in 2000
Everensence beat 50 cent in 2003

These younger artists cannot perform their material live anymore and legends like patti labelle gets dissed beacause these people are respecting these younger artist more than the legends.

My predictions for this year's Grammy nominations:

Album of the Year:
Late Registration - Kanye West
The Emancipation Of Mimi - Mariah Carey
X&Y - Coldplay
How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb - U2
Devils And Dust - Bruce Springsteen

This is what I predict will happen. The Grammy voters tend to be quite conservative in their tastes, so while they will throw a bone to the most popular artists, they tend to pick older artists in general. This is bad for groups like the Arcade Fire, but good for U2 and Bruce Springsteen. Since there was no obvious comeback story of a really old artist this year, nor any well-reviewed non-offensive artist like Norah Jones, this is why I expect Bruce and Bono to get nominations.

Record of the Year:
We Belong Together - Mariah Carey
Gold Digger - Kanye West feat. Jamie Foxx
Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson
Devils And Dust - Bruce Springsteen
Hollaback Girl - Gwen Stefani

Once again, it's like the album of the year nominations, though they will rely more on actual pop hits.

Song of the Year:
We Belong Together - Mariah Carey
Devils And Dust - Bruce Springsteen
Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own - U2
Diamonds (From Sierra Leone) - Kanye West
American Baby - Dave Matthews Band

This is a little bit harder to predict, since the Grammy voters don't necessarily have to nominate a hit song in this category. This is a songwriter's award, so there could be some nomination out of left field.

Best New Artist:
Antigone Rising
Fall Out Boy
Fantasia
John Legend
The Killers

These are who I predict will be nominated for Best New Artist, though that doesn't mean that they are the best new artists this year. Then again, what do I know about what Grammy voters will think?

That more bad music and overrated artists who think they the best to ever come out will perform, win, and be nominated like 50 cent.

These aren't necessarily the choices; just what I am predicting may happen with the Grammy nominations. BTW, I forgot about Paul McCartney's "Chaos and Creation In The Backyard" being released this year, so it's possible that it may have numerous nominations instead of (or possibly along with) Bruce Springsteen.

As for Stevie Wonder or Madonna, their ablums were released after October 1st, and the period for nominating albums and songs this year ran from October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005. So Madonna won't get any nominations this year. Stevie Wonder's album won't get any nominations either, but the song "So What's The Fuss" is eligible and may get nominated. I forgot about Green Day possibly getting nominations for song and record of the year for either "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" or "Wake Me Up When September Ends" but since the album "American Idiot" was released in September, 2004, it won't get any album nominations this year.

Gwen Stefani could get some of the major nominations, but I expect her nominations outside the one I mentioned to go into the best pop female categories.

I have to agree with mnay of your predictions, I think also Neil Young may be up for something too. However STEVIE did find a loop hole to get nominated, he released his CD via Itunes two weeks earlier and that DOES allow him to get nominated, this was done by the label since they knew there was an open field out there for Stevie to get quite a few Nods. I think its finally McCartneys time to get something, he was Overlooked for Flaming Pie also. U2 is probably a shoe in for Nominations this year as is Mariah and Kanye and Bruce. I think AMERIE will get a few in the RB female and Song category, god I hope so or else everything beyonce did will be nominated. Alicias "Unbreakable" will be in there too.

i think Gwen Stefani will will at least 2, maybe 3 Grammys. unless the academy caves in to Mariah Carey....again neutral

i'm sure nasty people like 50shit and Usher will get something. barf

if U2 are nominated....they most likely will win. their last album was brilliant. if it's the one i'm thinking of. confuse lol

Kelly Clarkson will probably receive nominations up the ass. and just might surprise with a couple wins. confused

Kanye West will take home a couple. 1 for probably a producer award. rolleyes

Green Day i think will be big winners. seems to be their year. smile

I doubt that Ashley Simpson will even be nominated this year. Her new album came out well after October 1st, so I don't even believe she is eligible for anything this year.

As for Mariah Carey, the Academy gushed over her the year she won Best New Artist. Since then, they've pretty much given her the finger. I remember specifically in 1995 when she was nominated for I believe eight Grammys and was completely shut out, mostly by Alanis Morissette.

As for the others, I believe you will be correct, but these will be in the subcategories of best pop, best R&B, best rap, best hard rock and alternative, etc.
