Lisa Stansfield Appreciation Thread

Been listening to the Real Love album lately and It's a classic! This is the only Lisa Stansfield Album I own. I have no idea what songs were or weren't popular. This is one of those that I just got, and enjoyed it every time I played it. But didn't pay much attenion to it. I was never ecstatic about it or anything. It's just a very good and strong album to listen to. I feel as though all of the songs are singles of hers...they are that good.

All WOman
Symptoms of Loniness and Heartache
Soul Deep
Make Love to Ya
It's got to be real
Real Love

If anyone has any suggestions of any of her music after this, please do so. I haven't really heard her after this album.

without sounding like an obsessed fan whistling i sincerely mean it when i say, buy any and everything Lisa's done. if you want a little taste of her catalogue, you can pic up her greatest hits called "Biography".

Biography

or if u want to go all out....
she also released a box set a little while back. it has all her albums remastered, and including b-sides. plus an additional disc with rarities and live recordings.

the Collection

her last album, was not pubicized. but non the less is a brilliant album.

The Moment

ok..i know that was a cliff notes version, sorry..but i gotta get out of here.

I haven't heard enough of her music to call myself a fan but "All Around the World" is quite nice. I'm glad you posted this because I've been looking for new albums to check out/buy.

The album after Affection that has that song you mentioned is REAL LOVE. It's awesome. Good solid songs that are very catchy and memorable. Very soulful and sultry. Not a stinker on it.

She drinks like a dock worker.

But sings like a goddess. I loved her standards album. Lost sight of her a bit. New album, you say?

Lemme check that one out.

Love Lisa Stansfield. I wish she was still big here. I have all but maybe one album and have recently been playing Face Up. In the clubs I use to live for the remix toSet Your Loving Free!

Lisa Stansfield is great! She is so underrated, and deserved much more success and recognition than she received. Her debut album is a favorite of mine. You can tell she is heavily influenced by the soulful sounds of Barry White.

been around the world and I,I....I can't find my baby

music I hope she makes a big comeback someday

I once read that Prince submitted a song for Lisa to record. This was in the mid-90s.She rejected it,saying that she doesn't really care for the songs he gives to women."I'm a fan of his,but his reputation goes downhill when it comes to working with other female singers".

can you imagine what Lisa could have done with a song like "Open Book"?
