Y can't Tori read? Ok, so I was watching the VH1 Classic Channel when a cheese metal video came on, so I decided to watch, cuz I love that kinda shit! This video came on with a girl with big hair and I was thinking to myself, she looks really familiar. Suddenly it clicked in.....It's Tori Amos! I couldn't beieve it! Does anyone else know more about this? I'm not a fan of hers at all but I just thought it was funny. I thought she was supopsed all serious n' shit!

You probably saw 'The Big Picture' video from the infamous 'Y Kant Tori Read' album released a few years before 'Little Earthquakes'. She tried to be what she thought everyone liked at the time and it didn't work. The album got terrible reviews and went nowhere. A few years later she was more honest with herself, submitted her piano demos for 'Little Earthquakes' to her label and the rest is history.

Yeah, that's the one I saw. It was hilarious watching galavanting around in tight leather. Do people ever make fun of her for that?

It's actually not a terrible album. "The Big Picture", "Cool on Your Island", "Etienne" and "Heart Attack at 23" are all decent songs.
But yeah...faux metal Tori is a riot.

She still plays some of them live, doesn't she?

Good grief, I am sooo late! I didn't know she did back up for Sandra Bernard! One of my best friends used to back-up for her in the early 90's...I wonder if they ever knew each other...

She did "Cool on Your Island" and "Etienne" on her last tour.

She has done "Cool on your Island" quite regularly over the years, and "Etienne" shows up from time to time. Both are beautiful songs when done live solo, although I would love it if she did them live w/ the band some time.
