Rufus Wainwright to re-release "Want"... Rufus Wainwright to Re-Release Want
On November 28, Wainwright will re-release his last two albums, Want One and Want Two, as one big double-disc of desire, imaginatively titled Want. The set includes two new tracks: a cover of Leonard Cohen's "Chelsea Hotel No.2" recorded live in Brighton, England, and "In With the Ladies", co-written with Alex Gifford of Propellerheads. i wish i could get a copy of 'want two' without the dvd. i'm interested in hearing it, but i don't wanna pay for a concert video i don't want, and i dont' wanna buy 'want one' a second time as part of a two disc set. i'm not a big enough fan to care about the extra tracks, though i guess if he put them up on his web site to purchase or something, i might be tempted to download them.
i like the song "vibrate" lots and lots. i've had 'want one' since it first came out, but i only recently discovered this song.

Want Two is actually pretty interesting.. its actually nothing like Want One.. for me at least.. its a bit more interesting.. has a little consistancy.. Want one is good, but I kindof lose interest after Go or Go Ahead.... that song should've been the last track.. its too good, and then the songs to follow it up are average tracks..

I think vol. 2 is better, more adventurous and more offhand at the same time.

Go or Go Ahead is my personal favorite by Rufus.. its his most accomplished piece... hits the soul for me...
can you imagine a whole album by him with that grade of a song? sheesh..

I discovered this song via an episode of Nip/Tuck. Holy shit, look what I just found on wikipedia: "Wainwright is a recovering crystal meth addict and a rape survivor; he uses the press to bring awareness to these societal problems." the poor guy. I mean, like, where is the sun?

i just KNEW that this was going to happen. just like with
Ryan Adams' "Love is Hell" EP's. so that's why -for the first time- i was wise and decided to wait until the doube disc package would be released. it's shitty from them to throw in those extra tracks so a hardcore fan would have to buy it again. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

actually, this is going to get me to buy them. completely missed Want One, and then got into him right before Want Two and forgot about him right as that one was coming out. plus, i didn't want the DVD either. so i guess this is the perfect release for me. finally.... has anyone caught the new show? it's fantastic!!! saw the show @ 9:30 it's wonderful!!!
have never been a great fan of rufus's records, i think the first one is still my favorite, but live the songs really hit me, in a good way. and the dance number is worth the price of admission. and of course my buddy Joan is still touring with him. unfortunately, they will be in europe for the rest of the dates Prince #MUSICIANICONLEGEND

I own about 3 copies of Love Is Hell...the double vinyl, the 2 eps, the single album, ryan did fucking well out of me in 2003 ( i also bought vinyl & CD rock N Roll). Makes me feel less guilty about ahving downloaded the torrent of Jacksonville City Nights (cool album by the way). Im definitely going to buy Want though. Ive got neither album, but have downloaded several tracks from both and really like what i hear. Out of interest would anyone recommend his sisters album?
