The Go! Team?

Does anyone know of this band? I've read some interesting reviews of their cd and now i'm thinking of checking it out. Apparently it's very happy music mixed with 70's tv show samples? Does anyone have this? Please let me know your thoughts.

i've seen their album on display a lot over the past few months...over the summer, it appeared to be only available as an import and it was pricey, but still popular. i've been meaning to look into this band and see what all the buzz is about.

I think it has officially been released here so it should be cheaper now. I'm very intrigued. It sounds crazy. I'm not sure how I would feel about the kiddie samples n' stuff but I want to check it out. I hope it's not happy music in an annoying way.

yeah - it could either be really loopy and fun, or it could be really gimmicky and easily ignored after the novelty wears off. hmm. maybe i'll check out some samples at amazon.com later...

The Go! Team are a bundle of energy and their 'Thunder, Lightning, Strike' album is party rocking. They're like a C86 band that have discovered sampling and Motown and thought 'fuck it-we can do that'. Check out 'Ladyflash' which is sought of a lo-fi version of Hanson's 'Mmm Bop'. A feelgood summer anthem for the masses.

It WAS finally released in the U.S. I bought it maybe 3-4 weeks ago cos some local DJ was going gaga for it. But, I bought it with a lot of other music and have only listened to it twice. giggle

...endo moves The Go! Team to the top of his 'to listen to' pile...

Okay, I've given this another listen this morning and it IS a lot of fun. I don't think it's like "the best CD ever" or anything, but it's fun, happy, bouncy music. I love the low-fi feel of it and all the group vocals. Good stuff.

'Thunder, Lightning, Strike' is a great album. I've only two minor complaints about it :
1. At 38 minutes it's a bit short.
2. The sound quality is not the best, it was recorded in a basement and it sounds like it. I guess as a new band they didn't have money to throw around, but they could've invested a bit in having it mixed properly.

Still, those are minor complaints, it's 38 minutes of great music, and the sound quality is not that bad, I quite like the 'demo' feel to it.
Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.
