Jackson Single to Be Released Within a Month
Michael Jackson will release his charity single later this month, according to his spokeswoman Ramone K. Bain.

The singer has been working on the track -- which will benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina -- with 12 artists, including R. Kelly and Snoop Dogg, via satellite from his new home in Bahrain.

The song suffered delays after Jackson twice decided to rewrite "From the Bottom of My Heart," which will also be given a new title upon release.

Bain says, "All that remains is for two or three more artists to do their tracks, and Michael will then add his vocals.

"He is now on the fast track, and we're happy with the progress."

Proceeds from the track will be split between three charities: the Bill Clinton-George Bush Katrina Fund, the Push-Excel Hurricane Katrina College Relief Fund and a special fund set up by the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences.

The release will mark Jackson's first work since his child molestation trial in June, which saw him cleared of all charges.

OK, I'm confused...last I heard he was in LA recording with the various artists, now this says he's actually working on it from Bahrain? And we're now on the third version of this song? Also Michael should shelve this single when it's done and then pull it out when another disaster strikes. This way he seems more on the ball with his release. Had this single been released sooner after the hurricane it probably would have been a hotter seller than what it's destined to be.

Comments like the one above, i feel, are completely insensitive to the many thousands of people who's lives have been completely ruined as a result of hurricane katrina. Although the hurricane it seems was some time ago, New Orleans is still destroyed and people have suffered immense loss. Its not going to go away.

The single will support the Clinton-Bush hurricane effort, making it a very important fund raiser indeed.

Also there are 12 artists involved in the final song including James Brown, Patti la Belle, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, R Kelly, Missy Elliot and Snoop Dogg.
