Thankfully, Prince introduced me not to a particular genre but music in almost all forms.
But at the end of the day, I'd say Funk. Ain't nothing more amazing than Sly's "I wanna take you higher".

Guess it would be "alternative", although I hate that buzzword. It would have to sound like some sort of unholy amalgamation of U2, REM, and Depeche Mode, and I don't think modern-day alternative radio does.

A bit of everything. If the band or individual song is good, I'll listen to it. There's so much amazing music to be heard in all genres and styles. Those that write off an entire genre as shit don't know what they're missing.

Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire were about much or little industrial themselves as Orgy, NIN or Marilyn Manson, if you ask me. "Gay-ass fairy music" as my friend used to call them. wink
