I saw Journey last night Damn! What a great show. Steve Perry might have had a little success after he dumped those guys, but right now, he's got to be wondering what the hell he was thinking. 15,000 people, average ticket price probably $30, 50 shows this summer - you do the math.
Anyway, those guys absolutely rocked. Great, GREAT setlist spanning the entire 30-year career. And yeah, they played all the hits. Plus, taking a page out of Prince's playbook, everyone got a free copy of the their new CD "Generations". It's damn good; reminds you that while not many people know how to play rock any more, these guys sure do.

Not only does he sound like Steve Perry, he looks like him... ...and his name is Steve Augeri. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I saw them one summer about 5 yrs ago, and Peter Frampton opened for them. I didn't realize until midway through the show that it wasn't Steve Perry singing! Once I found out, it kind of spoiled it all for me. Even though the guy sounded very much like Steve, it just didn't feel the same. I wanted my big-nosed, mullet wearin' Steve to sing "Oh, Sherry".

Yeah, Steve Augeri can and does. He's a helluva singer. I think the dude was selling shoes not too long ago, now he has one of the best jobs in the world.

I've dug Journey since I was little. I saw them a few months ago at the House of Blues. Great show, although I favor Journey with Steve Perry. I saw them back in 83. That's when Journey ruled. Neal Schon, along with Ace Frehley of KISS were my first guitar heroes. Neal is a helluva guitarist and somewhat underrated. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

The song "Faithfully" is my fave of theirs. Neal's solo in that is perfect. It's heartfelt and he plays with a lot of passion. The first time I heard P's solo to "Purple Rain", it reminded me of Neal's solo on "Faithfully". The leads are similar in their feel and similar runs and phrasing. I like Steve Perry better also, however I'm not a big follower of Journey. That is awesome that they gave out free CDs!!!!

I think Steve's voice was the perfect companion to Neal's emotional solos. One of my faves is "Stone in Love". My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

I think it's lame that they went and got a Steve Perry impersonator. Where'd they pick him up, Legends in Concert? Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)
