View that video, then all will be forgiven thumbs up!

I watched it. And I saw those same 5 moves. lol Don't get me wrong, Michael was so cool back in the day. I WATCHED the Mowtown 25 special when it was on and was glued to the TV. I had a million books about him and my bedroom walls were plastered w/ MJ posters when I was about 11. lol I knew all the choreography to "Thriller" (still do actually) and still think it's the best choreography in a video to this day. But I've personally worked with dancers that have just blown me away. MJ doesn't even enter the picture when I think of these people IMO.

And don't even get me started on the musical stars of the 40s and 50s.

Michael Jackson was one of my favorite performers ever. I even had dreams about him and the way he could move. He inspired me to study dance and now, professional dancers think that I am one of them, even though I never pursued it to that level.

As good as he is within his own repertoire, Michael Jackson is not as versatile as even JANET Jackson, much less any pro dancer. A professional dancer can do everything Michael can do with his body. Michael on the other hand cannot do what they do.

He is considered great because he is better than his peers who for the most part didn't devote themselves to the craft. Pop music in the 70's and 80's brought dancing back to the mainstream, but the average hoofer in any Gene Kelly film could *smoke* almost all those in the game today.

Mike is good. VERY good. He's just not "the Greatest Dancer".

When his game is on though, he's one of the most entertaining guys around.

Let the flames begin!

I'm not going to list the gals accomplishments...but ask yourself this...

Why is it that Madonna is expotentially bigger than Prince or MJ? And why is she STILL around if she is talentless as you say. Talentless people don't NORMALLY stick around for as long as she has.

bull shit i'm afraid... If your good looking, determined, sexy, nice voice, and a massive attention seeker then the world is your oyster. confused

Yep. Paris Hilton is all over television. She's even had TWO books in the stores and I didn't even know she can read. Talent and celebrity are two different things.

Madonna is a master at garnering publicity for her relatively meager talents.
Her best talent is self-promotion.

Michael Jackson is possibly the greatest dancer of all time. That's it. End of saga.

And that, my big minneapolis wannabe, is all i have time for with you wave

You need to get out more then if you think that. That may be your opinion and all, but who are you judging him against? And why am I a "minneapolis wannabe"? I'm from there. lol

I'm pretty sure I'm a good judge of dancers, being a professional dancer myself and all. And a dance teacher at that. lol Michael's good. Well, WAS back in the day when it all seemed fresh, but he's got about 5 moves. shrug If one day he decides to expand on that and show me something a bit more original and challenging, then maybe we can talk.

hey minni, u know i got loadsa respect for u as a dancer etc,, but u gotta give him alot of credit for being so good at dancing when he never studied it. Thats why his moves (his "5" moves lol ) were unique looking. U cant get that from training all ur life. I hope ur not offended, and iam sure u are an amazing techincal dancer, but mike, like james brown, and yes even mr mc hammer had a energy that cannot be trained with a teacher telling u how to move all day.

Only a few can be that naturally gifted. Mike was one of them.

that argument might have carried some weight if she'd come and gone in 5 or 10 years. it's been over 20 years now. the "no-talent" thing is tired and cliched. i wish some hipster would think up some new reason to sell Madonna short than "master of self-promotion" in order to undervalue her talent, so the rest of the pack would have some other lazy criticism to run into the ground.

she's an old boring mother of two that's the new one. it doesn't seem to work either but at least it's something that was't run into the ground 15 years ago.

there is one Mj figure I´ve never seen doing anyone else - THE SPIN.
Well, of course there are great dancers , but watching MJ´s videos like Smooth Criminal or Dnagerous performance from MTV music awards in 1995, it´s not that others are not able to do what he does. They apparently can. But they can´t do it with MJ´s elegance, naturality, preciseness and easyness.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I've just seen the video for the new single "Hung Up" and yet again it's clear she's just copied other things she's seen that she knows are popular. A large part of it is just a blatant copy of the "Call On Me" video!! The words "bandwagon", "jump" and "on" spring to mind. In my opinion she stopped being "original" long ago.

madonna has never been original, which i dont really care about and it doesnt make me love her any less, but she hasnt. most of the things she does are rip offs of other things, like most of her filmclips and more recently her songs. i know its impossible to be 100% original, and im not expecting anyone to be, but madonna has always been hyped as original and groundbreaking which shes never really been.

She has a fine touch tho for discovering acts/artists which yet haven't been noticed by other Record executives . Like the Dj who has just worked on her newest single and other songs from the new album .

Great other act which she signed for her Marverick label was female-artist Meshell Ndegeochello with her rhyming bass-booming funkstyle .

I, frankly, LOVE American Life. It's not my fave of hers but it is very near the top. There's not a song on there I really dislike, I think it's a pretty solid set.

I know it wasn't well received in the US but how did it do elsewhere?
