What's the big fuss about Madonna? She is a middle aged, attention seeking, credit snatching, talentless fool! These words may sound very harsh too you. But that's because they are! and they are supposed to be. Madonna sucks!

I can understand the fuss about MJ and Prince...

- Awesome songs such as Beat it, Billie Jean & Dirty Dianna!
- Massive inspiration to millions
- Gives millions of dollers to worthy causes
- Fantastic songwriter
- A truly amazing voice!
- Big influence on the stars of today

Prince

- Nominated for the songwriters hall of fame 2005
- PURPLE FUCKING RAIN!
- He plays 27 musical instruments
- One of the most inspirational musicians of the 20th century
- 30+ albums
- A fantastic dancer, performer, LIVE singer & musician
- Recorded a beautiful thought provoking hurricane relief track on his own in two hours
- The front man of one of the most infuential bands of the 80's
- Revolutionised the whole 1980's image/fashion & look with purple rain
- He is not afraid of change. and is a humorous showman


Madonna

- She... errm, well she get's loads of promotion!
- And errrm... She has made lot's of catchy songs
- She, well errm,... she, looks good for her age!
- She gets a lot of publicity...
- OH! i almost forgot,... she is in that new moteroler commercial!

- She has sold well!

I would never go so far as to say that Madonna is talentless. She has a lot of talent, but I lost interest in her years ago. She doesn't have a good voice, but she does have some amount of talent and definitely has business savy. I personally find her boring though.

Once upon a time i would have agreed with you but I've had a change of heart and it's still changing. To me, Madonna is THE shit. She's very similar to Prince in that they do what they want to do and don't give a fuck and I LOVE that. I can even see after I posted in the Madonna/Prince thread that there is good reason why those 2 have the same fans beacuse of the attitude and respect and they are both incredible performers. As for me, I've been collecting her CD's recently and I find that she makes fun, pop albums. Now everyone has their own view of things but I tell you, I really dig Madge. She's good to go, as is MJ and of course the one and only P man. Just my opinion.

Madonna has no true technical ability in any department as an entertainer or musician, but with such spellbinding, chameleon-like reinventions of herself throughout the course of her career, such amazing videos, such magnificent stage productions that are always different from the last, such irresistible hooks (and eventual artistic risk-taking) in her music, such influence on leagues of other female performers, such longetivity, such business savvy, such determination, strength, and hard-workingness in her character, such massive gay appeal... why do you think people love her?

That said, I DO feel her hardcore fans tend to overrate her a bit at times, especially with all this recent heralding of her wonderful ass and good looks at 47. Erm... her ass looks like your typical middle-aged rump to me (I've even seen pictures where she seemed to have NO ass, at one time or more), and without all the layers of makeup, airbrushing in pics, mirrors, etc., she's atrocious.

Madonna is far from a "credit snatching, talentless fool". She's written some very good lyrics, co-produced some good records and is the main architect behind an innovative career that has so far spanned three decades (don't know where you're getting the "credit snatching [sic] bit from ). As for being attention-seeking, all pop stars are and wouldn't you describe Michael "Kid-diddling" Jackson and Prince as middle-aged?

All of the following from your lists could arguably be attributed to Madonna:

- Massive inspiration to millions

Just because the guy has let himself become increasingly super-choreographed and overly precise over the years doesn't mean he's not amazing without all that showman perfectionism.
