I Love Mariah! agreed! i love mariah...although i am not as fond of her music these days as i was a while ago ("butterfly" was her last quality album by the way, & her best), but i still buy her albums and listen to her music. she has the most amazing voice. and to the harlepolis...the original "beautiful ones" is so much better than mariah's. her's is good, but damn, it has sisquo in it, and that makes the song lose some cool points  plus, you just can't beat p's emotion in the original. | |

Why I hate Mariah Carey -- by Aaron Ras.. er, um, "Aaron Forever"
She sucks. Plain and simple. But... to expand... She's nasty. She doesn't sing worth a damn anymore. She used to have a beautiful singing voice. She doesn't use it anymore. She just caterwalls like a wounded animal through every record. Her albums have all sounded the same since halfway through Music Box? And I say halfway through that one, because half of that album pretty much repeated the other half of it. As for her "black roots"... She makes me ill when she starts talking about the prejudice she faced growing up bi-racial. Excuse me... but... hello? Did anyone know she was even bi-racial until she started whining about it? I didn't. Most people didn't. You can't tell by looking at her. So exactly what was so difficult for her? She's as white-looking as they come. On top of this, she's a complete skank. Now, I can appreciate skankiness if it has some underlying reason. For instance, take Madonna. She's done some pretty skanky stuff. However, this has all come from a place, I believe, where Madonna wants to shock. Push buttons. Brain buttons. What buttons is Mariah pushing with her skankiness? Dick buttons. That's it. She's just a skank at heart. There is no movtive for it other than to be out there being a ho, and to lure unsuspecting rappers into remixing her songs and appearing in her videos. She's trash. Mariah is the most annoying performer alive. Period! Everyone raves about her vocal range. It's like nails on a chalk board! Good for her that she can sing that high. That doesn't mean she should! I found Mariah's dolphin imitations mildly amusing at first, but that wore out real quick, and the rest of her stuff has all sounded like the same song over and over.

Hate is such a strong word. I would not say I hate Mariah. I just get this really nauseous feeling every time I see her.
I liked her music when she started, but after her marriage/divorce with Tommy Mottolla, she really went downhill. She presents herself in such a degrading and sleazy way. Find some clothes that fit, girl! bahhh I don't even enjoy her music anymore. Alot of it probably has to do with the fucked up image she presents now. | |

Yes,Mariah now records for Island/Def Jam Records and she was even given her own label as part of the deal.She is working with Jam and Lewis on her new CD,which is due by Christmas.
Btw,a new Whitney Houston album is also due this fall.Because of their recent personal problems,look for both CDs to be heavily scrutinized and examined by the media:) | |
