The sistah is cool peeps, if you haven't noticed she have a REALLY GREAT VOCAL RANGE(Esp when the song make sense), PROUD OF HER BLACK-ROOTS(Doesn't matta what you say cuz you ain't got a prove about denying her roots), it won't hurt If I said FINE AS WINE, down 2 earth & HONEST(I wouldn't say that if I didn't met her) and not to mention REAL(Despite her fair brown skin and her golden hair).

Sure I may dis-agree wit her image or her 20 collapos but that doesn't mean I'm going to give her 10 hard slaps on the face.

I don't wanna start sumthin but the way I see it is you ppl seem sooo harsh on her even tho she praised our man so much and gave him the credit as her STRONG influence(Right after Stevie Wonder) MANY TIMES not to mention she considered him as her daydream crush LOL!!!

I don't get all the hate either. Sure. I'm not one to rush out and buy all of her albums, but her vocal range is impressive in my book, and, when she's not trying too hard, she sings like an angel.

To answer your question, yes. Her public image is badly damaged for many reasons. You have to admit that. She has a great voice except for that fake high-pitched shit that makes me want to stab my brain with an unsharpened pencil.

Actually, "Breakdown" is my favorite Mariah song. Love it!

I Love Mariah!

I've loved Mariah ever since I first heard her sing "Visions Of Love"...man, what a voice.

However, I can do without the dog-whistling, ear-piercing high note she continuously thinks she's gotta hit in most every song she puts out!

I do love her voice, her writing, and her producing.

She's a great talent!

I like her more now that she's transitioned to a more hip-hop, r&b sound. I didn't like her that much in the beginning because I thought she was trying to be too "white." I found out later Tommy Mottola was the mastermind behind all that, even telling her she couldn't wear light colored clothing because she would look too brown. Only "certain" fans don't like her now.
