"Soul Celebration" DVD Collection Last night, I was flipping through the TV channels and stopped on an infomercial about a DVD collection called "Soul Celebration". I would love to order it but it's too damn expensive. The record stores will eventually get it, I'm sure.
Anyway, it contains 6 DVDs with 120 performances of great slow jam groups from the 1970s such as The Stylistics, The Manhattens, Blue Magic, Heatwave, The Intruders, etc. It also had lots of disco from the 1970s such as Peaches and Herb, The Tramps, Anita Ward, Sister Sledge, Evelyn "Champaign" King, etc. I even saw a few funk groups like The Ohio Players, Wild Cherry, and The Commodores. There were a few 1980s groups like Carl Carlton also. The performances were recorded in recent years but I still would like to see them though. Andy is a four letter word.

Hopefully they will eventually be in the record stores and sold individually. The record store in my area does that sometimes. That way, I can buy them one at a time as I get money. Andy is a four letter word.

Sounds like something DavidEye either already has or that collection of tunes on one of his other 70s multi-disc comps.
(TimeLife, Rhino, etc) That brother's got a stash. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

These seem to be relatively new recordings/tapings. I think I would much rather have actual video from the 1960s and 70s, when the songs were current hits.
There are 2 DVDs, unfortunately so far released only in the UK, that I would love to have . Each has early 1970s performances by Stevie Wonder and Al Green, and they were taped for an old PBS show called "Soul !" The "Old Grey Whistle Test" DVD from a couple years ago had some excellent 1970s performances from Bill Withers and Curtis Mayfield #SOCIETYDEFINESU
