Best tracks by The Jacksons?

I know the Jackson 5, I know MJ, and Janet...

What about The Jacksons? I heard Madonna samples one of their tracks for the new record so I heard a snip of it on iTunes (Can You Feel it) and I was blown away.

What else is good by them? Any Jacksons albums worth copping?
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

The Jacksons are my favorite group of all-time.

I made a list of LP's, in my opinion from best to best.

Triumph 1980 - Essential; every track is killer

Destiny 1979 - Essential; every track is killer

Victory 1984 - Essential; most tracks are killer

The Jacksons 1976 - Most tracks are killer

Goin' Places 1977 - Uneven, but still good

2300 Jackson Street 1989 - Uneven, but still good

Live 1981 - What the title says

Also, check out Randy, MArlon and JAckies latee 80's LP's if you can get your hand on them.

I always dug MJ's work with the Jackson's moreso than his post Off The Wall solo work.

Shake Your Body Down To the Ground is a strong contender for the greatest dance song ever. Most people like the 12'' version but I actually think there's some refreshing rough edges to the album version. That or This Place Hotel (Heartbreak Hotel) or That's What You get For Being Polite is my pick for greatest Jacksons track.

Btw, some guy on another forum was telling me that "Blame it On the Boogie" was actually a cover of a song by a guy who coincidentally was also named Michael Jackson. Anyone know is that's true?

I don't know if it's a cover song, but I do know it was supposedly written by somone esle who shared MJ's name. I remember reading that a while back, just can't remember off hand.

I read it in his Moonwalk bio, Mike thought it was funny. biggrin

Anyway, I think everybody should own The Jacksons Live album from 1981.
Best studioalbum would be Destiny, I love his voice on the ballads!
Although two of my favorite Jacksons songs are on Triumph: Walk Right Now and Give It Up, very funky.

There is a fantastic song on the first Jacksons LP penned by Mc Fadden and Whitehead called Strenght Of One Man. Very Philly- groovy!

"Enjoy Yourself" (1976)
"Show You The Way To Go" (1976)

working with Gamble and Huff, the biggest R&B producers at the time, was a smart move.
