What a fabulous thread ~ exactly my time frame. The Sam Cooke songs hold especially great memories. I remember coming home from school and babysitting for my four younger brothers and sisters. I would dance them all around the house to American Bandstand and later Soul Train. It would keep them happy and tired out and I got to dance my heart out! I'll add Along Comes Mary by The Association. My friend and I stayed up all night once a little um ~ enhanced~ and interpreted the lyrics. I would place it about 1966 or 67. And you can't leave Joni Mitchell out!!!

Ouch!

That's a major oversight on my part. Good catch.

Damn, I forgot about Percy Sledge:

When A Man Loves A Woman
Take Time To Know Her
Warm And Tender Love
It Tears Me Up
You're All Around Me
Cover Me
The Dark End Of The Street
Love Me Tender
Out Of Left Field
What Am I Living For
Come Softly To Me
You're Pouring Water On A Drowning Man
It's All Wrong But It's Alright
Andy is a four letter word.
