Andy Warhol's take was 16 (M) million dollars in the past year, Dr. Seuss made ten (M) million, followed by Marlon Brando with nine (M) milion.

Marilyn Monroe and J.R.R. Tolkien are tied with eight (M) million apiece and there's a three-way tie between George Harrison, Johnny Cash and Irving Berlin, who each made seven (M) million.

From an episode of "A Scenario We'd Like To See"...

Telephone rings

Artist (of your choice whistling ) : Hello?
Manager: Hi it's Rob Ripoff.
Artist: What's up?
Manager: I think you should die.
Artist: eek WHAT!
Manager: No, no, no. I think this would be a very wise and financially profitable career move.
Artist: Oh.....OK.

Just like... oh, every other artist ever in the music biz ! When Prince adopts a James Brown move, or a Hendrix or Santana lick, it's called "Influence". When Elvis was inspired by artists before him, it's called "Stealing" . Hmmm....

BTW- Check out the interviw in MOJO Magazine from about 3 years ago, when Chuck D called Elvis a "brilliant artist"
