Band/artists riders

I'm sure this has been posted sometime before, but I thought it was kind of funny, and ridiculous in some cases. lol Or just boring.

I haven't waded through everything of course, but I like the commentary above each rider. The Rolling Stones' rider is pretty extensive. 6 pages long. lol

My dad used to be the operations manager at the Target Center in Mpls. and he used to bring these home from time to time so I could take a look at them.

I've looked through this before, and it is pretty funny. Don't they have Prince's Musicology rider on there?

It's amazing what they get on top of their pay. I'm in a band and I'd take the food, water, wine & backstage space with no money at all!

Of course, why not ask for it if they'll give it to you?

nod And a doctor to administer a B-12 injection. lol

I find it weird that the rider lists NPG men and NPG women seperately. whofarted I mean I know they have different dressing rooms, but the men get Powerade, chips, and chocolate, and the women get fruit and rice milk. falloff

I'm sure it's what they all requested, but it just looks funny. biggrin

Yeah, and they know that whatever they ask for, they'll get it. lol I had part of Zeppelin's rider from back in the day, and it was very simple, especially compared to artists these days. Only a few things listed.

Speaking of weird requests, my dad said that Neil Diamond was the strangest performer they ever had there. His demand was that NO ONE look at him as he walked down the corrider to the stage. lol Everyone had to turn their heads away as he passed by. falloff wacky

I know of another famous musician who supposedly demanded that of the workers at his studio in MN. I heard that of Luther Vandross while walking onstage, too.

The it's funny how the whole Van Halen brown M&M thing got blown out of proportion, when that was just a joke and a test to see if people were reading the rider closely.

lol I know. Wasn't there a reference to that in Wayne's World 2? But about Ozzy instead? lol

And while there's still a medicine man around for his 2004 Musicology tour, the 46-year-old musician is now downing Yogi cocoa tea and surrounding himself with the soothing aroma of jasmine and lavender candles (so it's anyone's guess why the artist formerly known as the Artist still needs that medical professional daily at 6 PM).

That sounds tasty. smile

And wouldn't it be just as weird if everyone turned their backs on you as if they stared at you?

They must have bizarre last minute rituals like sticking their tongues out, or doing a quick line off the back of their hands.

Yeah, that's most likely it. lol
