Ipod Question

I got one yesterday and I charged it on the computer last nite around 8 pm. We already have itunes and all of that set up on the computer cause my sister got one before. after almost 10 hours it still says the same thing. Does it still need to be charged or is something wrong with it?

Yeah, it will say that, but it's really charged already. nod Open i-tunes (if it's not already open) and you'll see on the left-hand side, a little bar with things listed, like: Library, Party Shuffle, etc. You should see an I-pod icon listed there as well, if it's plugged in. Anyway, click on that (meaning highlight it) and then on the very bottom, righthand corner of you'll see an "eject" icon. CLick on that and it "ejects" the i-pod that hooked up to it and then it's safe to un-plug it. nod You should then see that it's gone back to your regular menu in your i-pod window.

I hope that made sense. lol

Try resetting it. Hold down the Menu button and the middle one together for a few seconds. You won't lose anything.

It reads that on your iPod? It's supposed to just load up iTunes automatically and have the iPod symbol appear on the left column.

My old one fucked up once when I updated the firmware. It would crash the computer whenever connected. It was fine for a while, I'd just Ctrl-Alt-Del and iTunes would load up and recognise it again, but that only lasted a while.

I eventually gave up and just bought a new one. It costs too much to repair them and replace the internal batteries... and they're ever so pretty and easy to use compared to other mp3 players so I'm sticking with the masses razz

Oh, that's another reson I favour iPods, the disk space. A hell of a lot of mp3 players only go up to 20Gb, and I've nearly used that on my 30Gb iPod already. I don't know of any others that you can put the album artwork on there either.

I may not need all those songs with me all the time, but I don't want to keep adding and deleting tracks. If I had a 4Gb iPod Nano/Mini, my Jackson/Prince/Madonna collections exceed that space already.

I have a question too ~ when I import a disc to my library and it loads as only numerical tracks and no titled artist, how do I get in to make a track listing? Thank you!!!

I think you have to be on the internet as well so it can read the disc and find the title information, unless it's a certain type of recorded disc (not sure which) then it can't read it and you may have to label them yourself.

That's what I'm looking for ~ how to label them myself. I'm all connected but it's not a released cd ~ it's a compilation. I haven't had time to read through the instructions to see how to do that. I LOVE my iPod!!!!

You want to label the songs yourself? You should just be able to click your cursor near the beginning of the line, it will highlight in blue, then double click where you want to type in info . I hope this is what you meant.

I've tried that but it doesn't work. I'll work on it more this weekend to see what I'm doing wrong. Thank you!

When you pop in the cd, if only "track 01" etc shows up, in order to manually enter your own info, right click over the field and select "Get Info". There are several tabs, and pick the one where you enter all the information.

Take it back while you can. Get an Archos player instead. Freedom of format, better memory, good batteries and avoidance of I tunes. Win win win.

Amen, Ipods are garbage. The hard disk in mine failed in less than a year of usage. Total shit. Months before it died, it started randomly skipping songs and crashing quite often.
When i first got it, I thought it was the best thing ever which is why i always smirk when someone claims they got an ipod and how much they love it.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
