Robbie Williams "Intensive Care"

snowflake

so it leaked about a week before it's release next monday.
anybody got it yet?

i think it's quite a nice album. less silly than his other
ones. a bit more mature. and working with Stephen Duffy
is a breath of fresh air in his music.

the songs are a bit deeper. still silly and cringe worthy,
and even just ghastly in places (there's even a song with
the horrible title "Your Gay Friend").

but all in all, there's a lot of growth on this album. it
sounds nice, be it a bit boring. A bit of a case where all
the individual songs are nice or good but the complete cd
drags on a bit.

"Advertising Space" is my favorite song after three spins.

neutral
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

They showed the Berlin concert on TV last Thursday. I really liked the "Tripping" instrumental/strings version they played at the beginning. Great melody. Other than that, I thought the new songs he played (I hope I thought of the right ones as being new) were mostly boring.

His label should be worried, the singles have been crap. Basically he doesn't have the songs and the US will continue to ignore him.

SassyBritches

it does have a very 80s feel to it which is usually a plus for me but i can't say i'm at all impressed with it.

So was this released in America at the same time? It seems to be on Itunes. I kind of like him and would have bought his hits album but am very dissapointed that it didn't feature the very nice duet with Nicole Kidman of "Something Stupid". Stupid move becuase I refuse to buy the import, even if it was reasonably priced...

Ugh, it's even just £8.99 in Virgin in the first week of release. Obviously trying for some first week sales record or something by having it 50% less than all other newly released albums.

Am I mistaken or was the original Something Stupid by Frank and Nancy Sinatra?

It is but I'm not sure if it's the original or it is just the best known verison...it seems like a kind of strange (not very sexual, but just strange) song for father and daugther to sing but I suppose it could have been written for them.

Off topic, I just discovered (through Itunes, so maybe it's not the best source) that mostly men sing the song "A Rainy Night In Georgia". The only verison I know and really love is by Randy Crawford. She sounds amazing doing it! Beautiful!

Well, it ain't "Let's Pretend We're Married," but it is quite incestuous.

"And if we go some place to dance, I know that there's a chance
You won't be leaving with me.
Then afterward, we go into some quiet little place
And have a drink or two;
But then I think I'll wait until the evening gets late
And I'm alone with you.
The time is right...your perfume fills my head,
The stars get red, and, oh, the night's so blue,"

Old Blue Eyes, maybe, but keep shtuppin your kid and your grandkid'll be old 6 eyes!
