robbie williams is finished

the lukewarm reviews of his new album and some bad singles recently show to me that robbie williams is all but finished.....splitting with songwriter guy chambers was always going to show him up and i think its happening now.....great showman mind you but his recording career is on the way down.

Mr7

I'm not a fan of Robbie, but I think he's getting blasted for trying to do something different this time round.

He desires to be a serious Artist, but his 'fans' aren't really ready for it. They are more interested in his 'cheeky-chappie persona'. He wants to pull a George Michael, but is having difficulty.

However, the first single 'Trippin' has sold well in the UK so who knows?

in America, he'd barely even begun. definitely the male Kylie in America. the rest of the world's gaga about them, but where it matters (and don't be overly sensitive and take that the wrong way), no one could care less.

Robbie Williams' new studio album has got off to its expected strong start, yesterday, according to early chart reports.

Intensive Care selling more than 130,000 copies on its day of release (Chrysalis), his sixth studio effort, sold more than the rest of the Top 20 combined, and in excess of 50,000 more than last week's chart-topper - The Prodigy's Their Law - achieved all week.

Despite the huge opening tally, Intensive Care still has a battle on its hands to claim the year's biggest one-week total of 464,000, set by Coldplay's X&Y in June.

In the singles market, Westlife - no strangers to the chart summit - look set to comfortably enter at number one with new single You Raise Me Up (S). It will be the Irish act's 13th chart-topper, one away from Cliff Richard's third-highest total of all time.

King Of The Mountain, Kate Bush's first single for 11 years, is looking likely to become her biggest hit single since 1985's number three hit Running Up That Hill, while new efforts from Backstreet Boys (Jive) and Hilary Duff (Angel) are also vying for a Top 10 debut, closely followed by a host of independent singles from Maximo Park (Warp), The Magic Numbers (Heavenly) and The Rifles (Right Hook).

Not being overly sensitive, but clearly it doesn't really "matter" that much since Robbie has the most lucrative record contract in the industry right now, and Kylie's bank account would certainly disagree too.

And just imagine how much bigger they'd be if they could conquer America. As it stands, they'll be the Cliff Richards of their era.
