It was sounding good till you mentioned the damn rap part. I guess it's OK as long as it's only a small rap part. lol

The rap is actually pretty cool...short and brief lol see the video here:

I've never heard it. How does the song sound? I mean, is it retro funk, house, disco, or a combination of styles?

It's very retro-funky,sounding like it's from the early 80s.On their official site, one of the bandmembers describes it as "part "Billie Jean",part Rockwell" and that kinda sums it up.The lead singer's vocals sound like a sample from an old 70s hit,but I don't think it is.The song also includes a rap from De La Soul, which gives it a "modern" feel.I love the drums and the bass.I think you would dig this track.

Yeah, it's got a drum and bass vibe going on. nod

Yeah, I really can't figure it out. hmmm And it's going to bug me all day now. lol

But I know where the laughing is from. Do you remember those really awful, scary "wrinkled apple" looking faces that people would hang on thier walls? lol My friend's parents had two of them a long time ago. They looked like really old men and you would pull a string by their chin, and they would start laughing. shake That horrible cackle.

Having nightmares now.

lol No I HAS to be from those horrible things. nod

Because I'm having flashbacks now. shake

Now I'm listening to "Don't Get Lost in Heaven" from the album and I swear at the very end it's a sample of Jill Jones' voice from "Violet Blue". But I'm probably wrong. There are already some female vocals on there, so it's probably the same woman. hmmm

edit to say that this album is really growing on me now. nod I didn't like it at first actually. "Every Planet We Reach is Dead" reminds me of The Doors. biggrin

woot!

This album caught me immediately. Usually when that happens I get bored with it quickly, but that hasn't happened yet. It has actually grown on me even more since I picked it up...

When I first listened to it, I was disappointed that I only liked two songs on it. But just since this thread started, I have been listening to it more and now it's really growing on me. nod There are still a couple of songs though that I don't like.

And im glad to see their doing better than oasis! i dont like oasis. to me they r just beatles rip offs. they r so shit!
