My vote goes to Kem. He was homeless in Detroit's Cass Corridor and still made it. That deserves an award all it's own!! clapping

About this title: In this autobiography, Natalie King Cole thanks God for helping her walk away from prostitution and crack cocaine addiction. Although she received Grammy awards for her debut album in 1975, it was not until the mid-1980s that she admitted herself to drug rehabilitation center. After winning her battle against crack, she realized that she had to confront her biggest fear: living in the shadow of her father, Nat King Cole. neutral

the Bee Gees - they were successful in the late 60s/early 70s but sank into oblivion. So bad the record company refused to release their album and told them their time had passed them by.

Instead of accepting that, they went back into the studio and reinvented themselves. Their image was still so bad that the record company initially released the first track from their new album without saying who it was. The track was Jive Talkin, which started a string of hits (including 6 consecutive #1 singles) that eclipsed their earlier success and made them the biggest act of the 70s and the 5th best selling act of all time.

They sank into oblivion again after that because of some strange backlash over how successful they were in the 70s, yet bounced back again with several successful songs including You Win Again (#1 UK), One (top 10 US/#1 US Adult contemporary), Alone (top 10 US adult contemporary)

Biggest comeback from oblivion: Tina Turner and Carlos Santana.

Both artists released hugely successful comeback albums that gave their careers a second chance.

Am I the only one here to remember the oblivion the Bee Gees were in before Main Course? Biggest comeback from oblivion isn't even close. After sinking deep into oblivian, they came back with 5 straight platinum albums - Main Course, Children of the World, Here At Last... Live, Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, Spirits Having Flown. They came out of that string with 7 #1 singles, what then was the biggest selling album ever, and multiple grammy awards. All for a group that was told by their own record company that their time had passed them by.

Surely the most successful comeback of all time.

They went from selling around 8 million albums between 1967-74 to selling roughly 50 million albums between 1975-80. That's quite a leap.
