Anyone heard the 2005 Dead Can Dance tour CD's?

I see Dead Can Dance is selling two CD sets from at least some of their recent North American dates. http://www.dcddiscs.com/ Has anyone heard any of these (or for that matter, any of the European concert CD's)?

I'd really love to have a DVD from this tour, but I haven't heard that one will be released, so I'm thinking of just getting a CD. A friend saw them in Oakland, CA and said it was brilliant, but that show isn't listed on the site...If I buy one, which show should I get? confuse

Hello CandaceS ~ I have the double cd set released from their European shows called "Selections From Europe" and it is quite beautiful. A great source of information on what is available and which discs are held in higher esteem by fans is www.lisagerrard.com (a beautiful site btw). There were two shows which were backdropped by a full orchestra ~ one in California and one in New York. These are two that many people are waiting for but I don't believe have been released yet as they are fairly recent shows. All of the European shows sold out very quickly so I would recommend you make your purchase as soon as you can. Their final shows are coming up ~ Toronto on the 8th I believe and Chicago next week (Gangsta and I have 10th row for this one !!!!!). Many fans are saying the Chicago show could be the best as it will be so filled with emotion being their last show of the tour and possibly ever. My personal taste may be to have a copy of the Chicago show as I will be there and it is their last. I know they would sound incredible with an orchestra but part of the appeal to me is their use of ancient instruments in the music.
Oh ~ if you haven't heard Immortal Memory by Lisa Gerrard and Patrick Cassidy I would strongly urge you to seek it out ~ stunning! Let me know which show you decide to buy!

Thank you very much for the info! biggrin I'll keep a close watch on the DCD site for the shows you mentioned...plus I'll check out the Lisa Gerrard site and see what folks there say.

And you're right about Immortal Memory, I have it and it's a fantastic CD. cool Thanks again!

Update: I read through the threads on lisagerrard.com. Still didn't help me choose which CD I should order, but I guess there's still a glimmer of hope that there will be a DVD from one of the shows (with orchestra). I wish I could get the first Oakland show, that's the one my friend went to and he just raved about it, esp. Lisa's singing. Thanks again for the help.

The list seems to be complete as it includes the Chicago show which is next week. My guess also is that they may release one of the orchestral shows on DVD ~ that would be wonderful! I did order the Chicago CD. It is very difficult to choose but since this is the last show I thought it could be quite emotional.

I was thinking of ordering the Chicago show too...partly for the reason you mentioned, and partly because I figured the show would be nearly perfect by the end of the tour! biggrin

Yes, it appears there will be no more U.S. cities released on CD (according to the outfit handling the production of the CD's), but maybe a DVD will be otherwise released...

Update: OK, I ordered the Chicago show. Wow, the $100 3-disc vinyl LP set of that show sold out fast! eek But I'll have to be content with my CD. biggrin
