....I really don't get the comparisons to U2, REM or Radiohead. To me, they sound nothing like any of those bands. I think some of the comments Chris Martin has made lately have been a kind of sarcastic nod to the U2 comparisons.

coldplay is, of course, neither as risk-taking or as nuanced as radiohead at their most indulgent.

I said all them "English" bands. I guess you're now going to say U2 isn't English, they're Irish.

And believe me, after living in London for 6 months, all of them bands started sounding the same to me.

Big choruses along with mighty hooks are really big in Brit-pop. And the English bands mentioned have at one time or another, employed those musical devices.

pulp. or siouxsie and the banshhees or the clash. or david bowie. or...

Love 'em. Great band.

i suppose what could be better than trying to be rem or u2? trying to incorporate rem AND u2 into a pathetic game of wannabe/
