I haven't heard that track in long time. I liked it because it was way more militant than the other all-star "issue" songs of the day. nod

That reminds me of 1986's "King Holiday" by Menudo, Run DMC, Kurtis Blow, Teena Marie, El Debarge, New Edition, Whitney Houston, Melle Mel, Whodini, Stacey Lattisaw, James Taylor, Stephanie Mills, Lisa Lisa and Full Force.

That video is craaaazy! Whitney appears in her own floating oval on some Magic Door shit. Either that or it looks like she's gonna start signing the lyrics.

I remember THIS!!!! eek

All fashion crimes aside lol , I've always thought that this wacky looking video was pretty revolutionary for its' time, and for today as well; artists don't seem to have the leeway to publically come out against causes or politics they do not believe in without severe media backlash or having it affect their bottom line financially...how the media has responded to artists who initially came out publically against Iraq war and the federal response to Hurricane Katrina are examples...

Hilarious!!! I like the part where Eddie Kendricks, David Ruffin and Bruce Springsteen are walking down the street singing. All of a sudden they stop and Springsteen slaps five with the other two like he's got soul. I also like Run DMC's rap. they broke it down. But what's really funny is somebody dancing . I don't know who it is but someone with shades on is doing this sort of running man on crack dance where they'd turn their head and run one way, then the other. I have got to find out who it is. It was a white guy who looked to be in his early thirties at the time.

I saw that vid for the first time in nearly 20 years recently. The song is actually a lot better than I thought it would be 20 years later. It holds up, I think. Detroiters: Remember when Mojo used to play the 12 inch, like twice in a row? and then he'd play the damn instrumental version or the acapella .... He was all about this song!
Keep your headphones on.
