I like phil alot.


Not his recent stuff though. "no jakcet required is classic 80's. Mostly uptempo too. I love songs like "billy dont u lose my number"and other uptempos like "heat on the street" "hand in long enough

I do like his ballads too. "antother day in paradise" "i wish it would rain down" and the awesome "against all odds".


I know babyface is a big fan of his. I can see why, phil could write a good ballad

I got jermaines even lamer (though less funny) duet he did with that awful pia zidorra (?) called "when the rain begins to fall". A proper "mini movie" done in some exotic sountry (talk about expensive) yet its so crap. The song is naff too.

As for his solo stuff, I like his work from '81 (Face Value) up to '85 (No Jacket Required).

After that, the But Seriously album and Both Sides album have their moments, but are also full of sappy or boring filler. Everything after '93 is a waste of time IMO. I think he had one halfway decent song out of 12 from his most recent album- he's fallen far....
