Almost all of those are groups I love. But would I pay that to see them now? I'd give that amount to the relief effort, but I dunno. None of them are really in their prime anymore. neutral

Chi-Lites without Eugene Record? Stylistics without Ruseell Tompkins? lol

I would love to see the Dramatics but not for 68 bucks.

It's for charity though.

That's what I was thinking unless he is the headliner and maybe this is a very early announcement of performers and they are expecting more. I mean, I'd go and I know people here would go....but it's not excatly a newsworthy crew.

Why are old RnB stars are has beens and the Rolling Stones are not considered has beens. Everybody gets old and once you reach a certain age you will not get radio airplay no matter what you do.

It is for a good cause and D.C loves these types of shows. They do really well here.

because people pay billions to see them tour every 3-4 years. Peaches n Herb aren't selling out ball stadiums last time i checked.

Maybe you check more often. Peaches N' Herb (and he is probably on the fifth Peach by now) pack statiums to the top!

For me, it has to do with the way they sound. Most of them cats up top ain't got 'it' no mo'. BB King's 80 and I still go see him perform.

Well, when was the last time Stylistics, Dramatics, Chi-Lites, Delfonics, Peaches & Herb had a Top 10 album? The Rolling Stones had a worldwide Top 10 with their latest album a few weeks ago. It's not about age, it's about commercial viability.

i went to the show. it was a little over 5hours long. Lisa Lisa, Club Noveau, Jodey Watley, Delfonics, Stylistics, Public Enemy, Erykah Badu, Cameo, Lissen Band, New Era, New Edition, Cathy Sledge, Peaches and Herb, Melisa Morgan, Chi-lites, Ruuuben Studdard. I feel like I left out somebody. Anyhoo there weren't that many people in the audience maybe 3000 max but all I can say is the rest of DC missed out. It was well worth the $100. The Lissen Band and New Era are local groups. The only act out of everyone that I didn't really enjoy was the Delfonics. Everyone else was on point. The Stylistics have definitely got there shit together. Jodey, Lisa (is that her real name) and Melisa Morgan sounded great. Free formerly of 106th and Park introduced NE.

If I remember correctly, Jody Watley was asked to do a nude spread for Playboy, but I don't know what became of it. However, she has a sister who I saw plenty of in the buff and then some. (BTW, her sister was a hardcore XXX pornstar who went by the name Midori. She even dated Kid Rock before he hooked uo with Pamela Anderson.)
