The "Sexy Dancer" Syndrome: George McCrae and...? "sd" syndrome is a term i've come up with for songs that have great music, but the lyrical content...well, it's shit. 
f'rinstance: george mccrae. there's quite a lotta songs in his catalogue that i've come to love...but simply because of the music. the lyrical content of some of his songs are just stupid as hell. like "sing a happy song"--the music in it is pretty funky, imo...but them lyrics: Brothers and sisters sing a happy song Brothers and sisters ooh come on Sing y'all la la la la la cha-lock-a lock-a lock-a La la la la cha-lock-a lock-a lock-a la La la la la cha-lock-a lock-a lock-a La la la la cha-lock-a lock-a lock-a. Brothers and sisters sing a happy song Brothers and sisters ooh let's get it on Sing y'all la la la la la cha-lock-a lock-a iock-a La la la la cha-lock-a lock-a lock-a la La la la la cha-lock-a lock-a lock-a La la la la cha-lock-a lock-a lock-a Sing ooh sing a happy song Oh come on sing la la la la cha-lock-a lock-a lock-a (song fades) ...seems like a good bulk of his song lyrics were pretty basic, probably because they were mostly disco tunes. they made your booty think, moreso than your brain.
anyways, what songs out there do ya'll think fall under the "sexy dancer" syndrome? | |

I think that's just the "h.w. casey and r. finch" syndrome, who wrote George McCrae's shit and a whole lotta disco.

 yeah, they did A LOT of simplistic disco stuff...still don't stop me from lovin all the stuff they did on tk (and its subsidiaries...heh).
might be a few others who've fallen under the syndrome too...  | |
