Twista samples Ready For The World on "Girl Tonight" featuring Mario. (From RFTW's "Tonight", young folks should look this up and listen I for one didnt like him sampling that song cuz it makes a classic kinda cheap to me, but my brother said, "Well it's about damn time someone sampled that song! It was waiting!". What u think?

Melvin Riley/Gordon Strozier Song Review by Ed Hogan Ready for the World's "Tonight" is the kind of languid ballad that doesn't go away — meaning that it mirrors the lustful, boiling passion that envelopes a romantic situation. The Flint, MI-based band perfectly tapped into the vibe of simmering teenaged amorousness. The after-midnight feel is enhanced by lead singer Melvin Riley Jr.'s halting phrasing. "Tonight" was originally issued on Bernard Terry's Blue Lake label and turned down by every major label. WJIB DJ Electrifying Mojo began playing it on his show and the record became a hit in the Detroit area. MCA, who'd initially took a pass on "Tonight," signed Ready for the World to a recording contract. Re-released by MCA, "Tonight" went to number six R&B in late 1984. Their debut album, Ready for the World, included "Digital Display," "Ceramic Girl," and the number one R&B/ pop single "Oh Sheila." [Edited 10/13/05 21:17pm] Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Well, the sample works because Twista's lyrics are oh so freaky. And plus song is a good "radio song" in between all that crunk crap. Shoot, I like it more than that darn stupid Marquice Hudson song I can't even tolerate. Thank You San Alejo for getting rid of my enemies. :-0
Thank You SO much Saint Expedite for your help Thank You Virgin de Guadalupe for helping my friend Thank You Saint Anthony for returning my wallet to me untouched | |
