that 'Hounds of Love' is her masterpiece, I find myself listening to 'The Sensual World' a lot more often.....such beautiful songs ..'reaching out', 'this woman's work' and 'never be mine' - the way she sings 'but looking back over my shoulder at you happy without me'' on this last track would melt the hardest of hearts.

Most Prince fans (like myself) will tell you their favourite is The Dreaming

But we love each and every album.
...And Prince didn't like The Sensual World

Yeah, it's a beautiful album.

Reaching Out & Between A Man And A Woman are the only tracks I don't much care for, but even they're okay.

And the title track is quite possibly the sexiest song ever.

HOL is her masterpiece as it takes you on an adventure- heady beginning, strange middle and then...death, maybe.
But her other albums work fantastically by themselves-
The Dreaming has to be her 'experimental' masterpiece
and Never Forever has to be her lyrical masterpiece.
I think HOL is considered the best as you have to look at the singles that were released and how they survived by themselves...
and then how the album on a whole is solid and well structured.
I can dip into the others and select certain tracks, but with HOL, I just have to let the whole thing take me away...

I don't know what it is exactly about the latter but it's so dreamy. The Trio Bulgarka really suit its' mood. I can't wait to hear a remastered version, someday - to hear it in all its' glory.

I was watching The Sensual World video collection recently - would other fans agree that, as Kate says, it's her most 'feminine' album?
