70s R&B classic of the day: "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers (1977)

When I wake up in the morning, love
and the sunlight hurts my eyes
and something without warning,love
bears heavy on my mind

Then I look at you
and the world's alright with me
Just one look at you
and I know it's gonna be

(chorus)
A lovely day
lovely day,lovely day,lovely day,lovely day

When the day that lies ahead of me
seems impossible to face
when someone else instead of me
always seems to know to way

Then I look at you
and the world's alright with me
just one look at you
and I know it's gonna be

(chorus)
A lovely day
lovely day,lovely day,lovely day,lovely day

When the day that lies ahead of me
seems impossible to face
and when someone else instead of me
always seems to know the way

Then I look at you
and the world's alright with me
ah,just one look at you
and I know it's gonna be
A lovely day

This song has always been special to me.In the 70s,we had alot of songs like these...breezy and melodic (I'm thinking of songs like "Walking In Rhythm" by the Blackbyrds and "Rock the Boat" by the Hues Corporation).Hearing "Lovely Day" makes me long for the good ol' days when R&B was still vital.

I thought he was white , he doesn't sound black at all
I think the word 'day' in the line 'A Lovely Day'
lasts far too long
Frankly i think that's quite annoying

I also think the 'i know , i know , etc' in 'Ain't No Sunshine'
is annoying , nice songs ,tho' apart from that smile
