I love to see her do collabs like this! I know a lot of people in the general public don't really feel Mary, but a lot of musicians from overseas express fondness for her vocal phrasing and her overall body of work. The cutest thing I just saw recently was a DVD interview with Lisa Stansfield saying would LOVE to record with Mary J. Blige; I had to stop and think how interesting that duet could really be...I think I'd be into hearing what they could make of it, actually!

Phrasing, my arse. She is the queen of breathing in all the wrong places; as are most R'n'B singers these days.

I never liked the song One that much until I saw Mary help U2 sing it on the Hurricaine Relief Concert. She blew Bono away! Seriously.

personally i think mary tends to over sing things when she performs in front of an audience. no matter, i'm sure seeing the bunch of them on stage together would have been way cool!

She overemotes as much as Bono, but at least she doesn't hide behind dorky sunglasses when she does it. [Edited 10/9/05 19:11pm]

Oh my god. Two of the most annoying artists around - together!
Bono really should donnate his earninng to save the planet, instead of sitting in a big house whining about other people not doing it.

Rumor is he has just been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. They keep the list of names secret for several years and I believe the awards were last Friday but it is a well deserved honor if he was nominated. Music is the language of the spirit. Are you telling me he doesn't have millions in the bank? In this day and age, it's refreshing to have an artist who is filthy rich pleading for other people to give money. Just like Richard Gere. In that new visa ad. What a guy.
