David Foster........

"river of love" isn an ok album. Of course its cheesy. Off the top of my head, he has been involved with these songs

"earth song" Jacko
"voices that care"- various
Chicago peter cetera era
Earth wind and fire "after the love has gone"
John Parr "ste elmo's fire"
various celine dion songs mad

I guess David foster created adult contemporary music.

Love that cheese. Talented producer.

Anyone heard of him?

I'm sure most informed people here have heard of him. He's a big wig. Honestly, I am not familiar with his solo work, but as a producer he's really very good. He pulled one of the greatest vocal performances of all-time out of one of his earliest produced hits - Jennifer Holliday's And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going. He's done a lot of great work in many genres of music.

I get him confused with walter affansief (or wally). I think wally ripped off david's now cheesy as hell OTT sound.

I bet david did some work for Michael bolton. I sure know wally did. Hmmmmm, i'll check

Bytheway, "st elmo's fire" rocks. If u want one of the best cheesy pop/rock song ever, then its a must.

That middle 8 is great

"just once in my life, to have a moment in time, and that time is now, iam coming alive".

Iam right. I remember thinking "I never knew that" a while back.

He is credited as producer with Mike. Shoulda known really. It is grandiose which is typical foster.

Really? Yep, i hate that song too, though i liked it at first oddly.

David and mike would work well together though.

He's a great producer.Throughout the years,I've liked many of the song he wrote and produced.I love the work he did on Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" from 'The Bodyguard' soundtrack. He also co-produced a few tracks on Earth Wind and Fire's 'I Am' album, which is my favorite album by them.

I even like the work he did with Madonna for her 'Something To Remember' album lol

David experienced the highly creative period during the making of EW&F's " I Am " - mega selling album . Maurice White would have a sudden idea in the middle of the night , went on to the studio to play & record raw concepts on demo .

Having it finished in the morning , Reece would call up David for his input .
After having created some compositions , they hooked up with the band to let them hear the demos . some bandmembers were overwhelmed by the powerful concepts which asked for them to give it a 200% shot . The rest is history ...

Great anecdote was also from the Emotions-leadsinger Wanda Vaughn , about their hook-up for " Boogie Wonderland " . Reece called her up & asked if she and her sista's would like to sing on a disco song . Wanda asked Reece to play the demo over the phone . She replied : " that's not disco .... it's gospel " cool ... just her point of view , but interesting .
