I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there.
I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish.

Great that you've seen it like that . I saw her last summer at a festival . Her attitude had quite a negative vibe on the audience . She litterally didn't give a fuck and was most of the time with her back turned to the audience .

She made some excuse that she had to find herself , and kept no interaction at all with the audience .

If that's her thang , aiight , but this performance being the closing show of the last edition of this festival evolved in an anti-climax vibe of the evening .
Many people took off .

Not at any moment the show got in a positive groove .
I'm sorry to say it , because i was really looking forward to this show . Especially after having heard her latest work , and that coming show being the final closement of the festival .

Hope to see her show again like you all experienced it .
Peace .

In all honesty she really wasn't all that obnoxious with the SD crowd...she seemed just chill spewed of some things here and there...but nothing to brutal...she interacted with the crowed really well and seemed plesant to me,she thanked everyone for coming out.

Not to make a comparision by any means,,,

Miles Davis used to do this same routine(turning his back to the audience,,,in order to set well with his mood).

Some people think its self-indulgence,,,I really don't have a problem with that personaly.

Can you BLOW? Then fuck it, sing while you're doing the doggy style position for all I care.

I don't wanna compare that much either . People visit a show and expect first of all good music , with a possible bonus of a some well presented showmanship .

Now this is a difficult one . Miles Davis indeed had this stage-presence . BUT , the performed music he and his band played , has always been a great innovating experience to a lot of visitors . Although Miles also not seemed to give a fuck , he explains in his biography what his reasons where and why he did what he did :

" I could communicate with the band just by giving them a certain look . That look told them to play something different from what they had been playing , and after a while the music really started coming together .

I listened to what everybody was playing in my band . I listen constantly and if anything is just a little off , i hear it right away and try to correct it on the spot while the music is happening "

That's what i'm doing when i have my back turned to the audience...I can't be concerned with talking with the audience while i'm playing , because the music is talking to them when everything's right .

If the audience is hip and alert , they know when the music is right and happening . When that's the case , you just let things groove and enjoy what's going on . "

As you can read , Miles was very communicative with his band , but in the concerts i've seen , he always thanked the crowd in the end in his own subtle kinda way . If you look back , it was quite some accomplishment for him to do concerts , while suffering serious diabetes . His major concern seemed to keep the direction within the band .

But okay , if Jaguar might sometimes have that same kinda of approach in her gigs , then i stand correct and will keep it in mind with one of her next performances .

I must ad that at the first performance i saw from Miles , it was the most silent crowd around me that i've experienced . This was on a festival in a hall where it's almost NEVER silent , but this time you could hear a pin drop .... impressive .
Most of the performances on that festival were loudly announced by a stage-MC . With Miles his show , the lights went out , the curtains opened , and just Miles alone came on stage , greeting the crowd by waving , while in the background played http://mfile.akamai.com/1...obj=v10207

Yeah, she can surely blow but she does put the G and O in GHETTO.
