PBS airs PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC documentary

October 11 at 10 p.m.

PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC: One Nation Under a Groove (60 minutes)
by Yvonne Smith
Co-presentation with the National Black Programming Consortium

George Clinton: mastermind behind the band Parliament Funkadelic. Find out how he expressed the cultural alienation of young African Americans, creating an alternate universe of “aliens” who brought the redemptive power of funk to a world sorely in need of a new point of view.

http://www.pbs.org/indepe...unkadelic/

hit the link for regional showings and cable/sat airings.

Fantastic show..Highlights:

1) Never before seen footage of early 70's Funkadelic. George blasted out of his mind wearing makeup.

2) Interviews w/ the Funk Mob members you normally don't hear from..Boogie, Calvin, Fuzzy, Grady, Jeanette Washington (who still looks amazing), Dawn Silva, Pedro, Overton, Stozo.

3) The Rick James clips on his thoughts about P.

Yeah..It was cool to see Slick Rick give it up to the Mob, who influence him big time....

His musicial theories was on it....

When he stated that when he had an idea, he would be like "What would George do?"....

Alot of them, back then probably did that....lol

I found out about it by accident. It was really fascinating to watch. I loved to see the Hall of Fame give Bernie love. There was a track they played that I hadn't heard before called something like If Any Gets Funked Up, It's Gonna Be You. I really dug it. Anyone know anything about George's 90's output that I should check out?

I don't get it. The show did not air on the West Coast. I looked at the Web site and it says it will be on Saturday night. Anyone else experience this as well?

Yeah, it's weird. I first heard about this special a couple of months ago and it just aired in Chicago last night. It was awesome.

Plus, they had Shock G on there. I'd sell one of my kids for him. mushy
