A-ha "analogues" release Nov 7th for UK....2006 for USA Just got the word from a Friend at Universal records (a-ha's new label) that the USA wil not got the new AHA CD until spring 2006. Mainly the reason comes from a very SLUGGISH year in the Industry, and also the Industry is forecasting a 10% drop in CD sales this Holiday season compared to last year. How does this concern AHA's release??? Well Universal has them Signed for three New CDS, and obviously the Label isnt worried about sales Overseas, so far the Preorders have it shipping 500,000- a million units in European Markets, But that kind of Number is nothing in the USA as AHA members pointed out. The label is pushing the release back in the USA so it has time to work the product, also Because AHA is starting a European tour late October and playing through december so Obviously it makes no sense to put the record out here when they arent available for press, or touring. AHA is committed to doing their part in the USA, they are ready to tour and know that they can sell out shows in the 2000-5000 seat markets, which they proved in NYC this september.
The New CD marks their first with Mixer FLOOD, and the First AHA cd recorded totally together in the same studio. The CD will be out in the UK on NOVEMBER 7th, it will feature a LTD edition package containing a DVD with LIVE tracks, along with Bonus tracks on the CD..... Heres a Link to the TRACKLISTING and If U wanna order it I will be getting it FIRST DAY and expect a review! http://recordrunnerusa.co...NALOGUELTD "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

I really like both of these.. very good! Celice is the First Single released from the CD and the Video is causing alot of TROUBLE overseas. Summers of our Youth is also on the CD single for CELICE and is a Bonus track on the LTD edition version. The CD singles for CELICE were just released and Im getting My copies this Friday, there are 3 different versions available (this is why imports rule!!) There is a 2 track Version with a Live track, there is a 5 track version with a Bonus Mix and also the Enhanced Video CELICE, and then there is another 5 track Single with all different Mixes by different Mixers. As always A-ha do it up for everyone. Im hooked on that song Yeah its the first Really Upbeat song that AHA has released as a single in a long time. Not that there was anything wrong with their last couple of albums, honestly their last 2 albums were there best yet. But it almost seemed as though they were shying away from upbeat tracks. Though i am not interested in charts and things like that, I can really see AHA getting some play on this, Im sure VH1 would pick up the video when it hits the USA next year, kind of the way VH1 gave support to Duran. Even that b-side is a really well thought out composition... They both have me hooked.. gonna get their new album whenever it comes out... very anxious to hear "Cozy Prison"

Celice is one of the best tracks of 2005 in my opinion wise.. in its genre Thanks for all the kind words to A-ha, possibly the most underrated band of the last 20 years. A-ha kicked off their tour the other night, they got great reviews, also they got a 5 star review for the new CD. The Interview with A-ha is a great read, someone posted it on their website, they are very brutally honest about themselves and how they feel now, they basically feel like this is the first time they have been a 100% unit!! I tell ya.. Cosy Prison and Analogue are some of their best work in my opinion...
Analogue could rival with the best coldplay, keane, or any of the brit rock groups...

Analogue could rival with the best coldplay, keane, or any of the brit rock groups... Well Im about a day away from getting my import copy which will arrive in "RECORD RUNNER" the best import place in NYC for the best artists from that era. The import comes with a DVD also which will have an in-depth interview about making the album and 4 LIVE performances from their Benefit show in norway last month. Even though I have just heard COZY PRISON and ANALOGUE in concert, I knew right away that AHA was doing their best record ever, they are playing their shows with a New Found energy and desire and that is evident on the record too, AHA has stepped past all my other favorite bands from that day (duran, depeche, Inxs, u2) to become my favorite. A recent article/review pointed out how AHA are "the grandfathers" of bands like Coldplay and Keane, but they have also taken their own step forward to give them all a run for the money and RESPECT. I'll agree with that. I think that is a fact.. especially Keane.. Keane really borrows a sound from A-ha and Coldplay..but after listening to A-Ha's albums.. I'd say Keane got their motivated sound from A-Ha btw-The song Analogue is just above it all man... thats the jam!

Its been 3 years since LIFELINES and 2 years since the Double Live cd "How can I sleep", so its been a long wait for a new record, and so far nothing but positive reviews and glowing praise for a band never really given their due. The word is also good for the USA to get the CD and a tour next year. Based on the Vibe of that one NYC show in September will be returning to the states to tour, dates are not yet decided but most likely springtime. And further good news are the quotes from the label people who are all 100% behind AHA, treating them on the same level as Labelmates U2. I will post a review a day or two after i get the CD, i really need to be "alone" with it and listen to no other music during that time. But based on the reviewers, the top songs talked about are COZY PRISON, ANALOGUES and Holy Ground. It's such a postive surprise that a band called "A-Ha" has aged so gracefully and are still making fine pop songs.

[Edited 11/7/05 9:15am] No problem Im glad people are getting to know them and understand really the Movement that they created, bands from Coldplay to SnowPatrol to Aqualung to keane etc.... the list is really long, even u2 called them Pop Genuises forgotten really because they are good looking, and really thats why they are put in that forgotten class. If U want to know when AHA started this change it was their Fourth CD called "east of the Sun west of the Moon", stripped down, the 80's were over, throw out the Keyboards and the Synths, and thats what they did. Not saying that the first 3 albums werent good, ironically their second cd "swing of things" is regarded as their best work by many fans, and one of the best 80's records, and worldwide their most popular. But when they changed and grew as writers and players in 1990, they became the Pop masters that i think they are, they write such perfect songs, and vocally, I dont think anyone can be put in the same class as Morten Harket. As much as I love them since the 80s I have to say that their live shows are boring as hell. It doesn't deserve to be called 'show'. They were just standing there, playing their instruments and that was it. No show elements, no dancing, nothing. It would've been much more comfortable to watch this on dvd or simply listen to their cd's. I'll continue to buy their cd's because they're great musicians, but I'll never go to one of their concerts again. Too boring.

I am really really really anxious to hear this CD.... Why couldn't it be released now in the US??!! I just don't have the $$ to spend on an import right now, especially w/ the Eurythmics re-issues next week. URGH!~!~!

Well i have to really disagree with this, though everyone is entitled to their opinions. A-ha is a concert, musicians, songs. Why would there be dancing at an A-ha show??? How funny it is to hear things like all they did was play their instruments....wow that has become a bad thing??? there is interaction with the crowd, here in NYC when they played people nearly tore the place up and A-ha was very interactive, so maybe its European audiences that are "boring" and not the artists. But really though, if U wanna see "music being played and real musicians go see A-ha" if U wanna see a show with Dancing then Janet or Madonna would be the show, where the music is not the main thing u are there for. Well market wise the USA is pretty lame right now, they are anticipating a 20% decline in sales this season next to last years, so Universal has held off on AHA along with many other cd's this year. The good news is that the Label is at least holding off the CD because they want to do proper promotion for it, similar to what SOny did for DURAN DURAN, and even though Duran didnt do Huge sales it managed to pull in about 400,000 so far, and universal is hoping for something similiar with AHA and a Tour is going to happen, that will be the main focus.
