Anyone else dig PETE YORN??? Since many are posting their adoration for their favs...I feel I must post something about Pete Yorn and what I consider a BRILLIANT album: musicforthemoringafter.
I was a buyer at a Virgin Megastore back when I recieved a mailer from Columbia touting their "NEXT RISING STAR"...It was an advance cd, bio sheet, and video for "Life On A Chain"... I took it home and never went to sleep that night. Such a simple album, simple melodies...BEAUTIFULLY done! I ended up singing every song by heart within a week of that first listen. Songs like "Black", "Simonize", & "Lose You" just moved my senses like nothin else had done at the time. Since then...I've seen PY live 3 times and loved all of them. (Though I think he was really wasted at my 2nd show...he was a little slow.LOL...but nevertheless he got better as the night grew)... I also met him after one of the shows and he was just an everyday, cool as hell guy ! If anyone else loves Pete Yorn..post your thoughts here... SIDENOTE: I noticed the album has been re-released with a second disc of live covers such as "Panic" (SMITHS), "China Girl" (BOWIE) and Sprinsteen's "Dancing In The Dark"...though I love the album...it pisses me off when the labels to this! Makes we wanna download! LOL Every minute of last night is on my face today.... | |
