Janis is one of those people who, when people ask who you'd love to talk to living or dead, her name is always on my short list. I'd love to just sit and drink and smoke and gossip with that woman all night, listening to her blues albums and shooing her cats off my lap.

nod watching that documentary about her (where she goes to her high school reunion) made me really really wish i could have had a chance to hang out with her...she just reminded me of my kind of people, scary as that might sound. lol

Even when she was here she was on a different planet. Raw, gutsy and lived her short life to the fullest. I miss her terribly. She epitomized the culture I loved (except for the heroin). 100% out there 100% of the time.

I'm about to take the raft out at noon. Probably for the last time this year. I thought I was already done mid-September. This is great!

Yeah, but that was back in the black & purple days when I was still funquita.

There wasn't the sense of community that there's been from 2.0 and the 3rd Celebration onward.

But if I'd known who you were back then, I would've definitely made the effort too.

There is this perception of her that she was just a space cadet junkie. If you ever have the chance to watch an old interview of her, do it. She was highly intelligent. I was very surprised and impressed. I always just bought what I was told about her. This woman is a legend. She felt her music like people rarely do. What a shame to lose her so early cry
