That's exactly the deal I took up this morning mate! 9.30am I was down there, and was delighted to see the recent biography for slightly cheaper than normal.
I've just listened to Aerial once, but I agree on the production. The bass is pounding on A Sky Of Honey. It's almost dance music. It'll take some time for the CD to sink in, I think the second disc is stronger than the first.. But I'm not ashamed to say I shed a tear during A Coral Room. Maybe it's because I thought I should, hard to say, after what I've heard about it..but Kate's voice and a piano could melt the polar ice cap couldn't it? "I'm much too hot to be cool"

My choice: Joanni. Imagine the video!

My choice: Joanni. Imagine the video! I've seen a Japanese poster advertising Aerial with the quote, "includes the single KOTM and HOW TO BE INVISIBLE!!! Joanni should be a single along with Somewhere in between, but imagine a massive club mix of Nocturn!?! "There is no such thing in life as normal..."

just bought it. i have a paper to write so this is going to be the perfect background music. i don't know any of the songs so i can't be distracted by lyrics, lol. it will also give it a chance to become familiar to me, in that subconscious kind of way.

"what kind of language is this, what kind of language is this?
i can't hear a word you're saying, tell me are you singing?" aerial may be my favorite kate bush song...ever! "i feel i wanna be up on the roof i wanna be up, up on the roof up, high, high on the roof i feel i gotta be up on the roof i feel i need to be up on the roof up, up, high on the roof high, high, on the roof in the suuuuun!" damn, this is a great track!

Aerial is growing in me each moment! Together Madonna's new album and Tori's Boy for Pele, it has become a regular on my mp3 player!
I'm loving Joanni now! It's not as extraordinary as Hounds of Love, but it's so personnal! It remembers me Bjork's Verpetine and the b-side Domestica (one of my favorite Bjork tracks!)

the washing machine song has got to go, though. i'm sure its all metaphor and tongue in cheek but ol girl took 12 years to make a record...i don't wanna hear about the scrubbing of the floors and how long it took to make them sparkle and the "washing machine, washing machine, washing machine...slooshy, sloshy, slooshy, sloshy, get those dirty shirtys clean, slooshy, sloshy, slooshy, sloshy..."
those are some funny ass lyrics!

CandaceS said: Well it's out here in Japan...but I already have it on preorder from amazon.com so I couldn't quite swallow paying over 3200 yen (almost US$30) for a copy of it today.
Guess I'm stuck waiting, hopefully only a few more days...but at least I got to see it, hold it, and listen to a few tracks at a listening station! And what I heard sounded great: KOTM, Pi, and part of A Coral Room, then I had to leave...I want to listen to disc 2 in its entirety so I didn't touch that. Oh yeah, and I picked up several copies of a nifty little Toshiba-EMI promotional brochure for Kate and Aerial! One page features artists who have influenced Kate...Prince is among them, and interestingly the little photo happens to be the Musicology CD cover photo. [Edited 11/6/05 2:01am] Sam Goody here had it for $23.....and you know that was the only Kate Bush album their store ever had. Everytime I'd go in there I'd never see any of her other albums, so I was kinda shocked to see that they had it. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

I couldn't quite tell. It has to be.....he looks just like her in that underwater pic. That's Kate too.... that pic. is just adorable. I see why she's so crazy about Bertie....he looks so precious. Plus there's a picture of him by the song "Bertie", so most likely it's him. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

I bought it today at a store on 42nd street in manhattan across the street from byrant park. I walked in there expecting to pay close to twenty dollars.
It was marked at 10.99 They must not know it's a double disc, cause the others new cd's had the same price. I'm about to listen to it now. YEA!!!!!!

The first 4 songs alone make this one of her best, right up there with the kick inside and Hounds wow
My priestess has returned I got ahead of myself after hearing the scond side, not as great as the other two, but probably my thrid or fourth... excellent album though, first side being better than the second. [Edited 11/8/05 20:36pm]

[Edited 11/8/05 20:36pm] I'm really liking it. My only complaint is that it's a bit too much to digest in one sitting. Would've been classic if she'd trimmed down to one.

I was really looking forward to hearing the song Pi because I used to have it memorised to 500 places, and when I heard it, I knew she had got some decimal places incorrect..and she has!!
