PrintableThat's exactly the deal I took up this morning mate! 9.30am I was down there, and was delighted to see the recent biography for slightly cheaper than normal.
I've just listened to Aerial once, but I agree on the production. The bass is pounding on A Sky Of Honey. It's almost dance music. 
It'll take some time for the CD to sink in, I think the second disc is stronger than the first.. But I'm not ashamed to say I shed a tear during A Coral Room. Maybe it's because I thought I should, hard to say, after what I've heard about it..but Kate's voice and a piano could melt the polar ice cap couldn't it? "I'm much too hot to be cool" | |

I'm loving Joanni now! It's not as extraordinary as Hounds of Love, but it's so personnal! It remembers me Bjork's Verpetine and the b-side Domestica (one of my favorite Bjork tracks!) | |

the washing machine song has got to go, though. i'm sure its all metaphor and tongue in cheek but ol girl took 12 years to make a record...i don't wanna hear about the scrubbing of the floors and how long it took to make them sparkle and the "washing machine, washing machine, washing machine...slooshy, sloshy, slooshy, sloshy, get those dirty shirtys clean, slooshy, sloshy, slooshy, sloshy..."

Guess I'm stuck waiting, hopefully only a few more days...but at least I got to see it, hold it, and listen to a few tracks at a listening station! And what I heard sounded great: KOTM, Pi, and part of A Coral Room, then I had to leave...I want to listen to disc 2 in its entirety so I didn't touch that. 
Oh yeah, and I picked up several copies of a nifty little Toshiba-EMI promotional brochure for Kate and Aerial!  One page features artists who have influenced Kate...Prince is among them, and interestingly the little photo happens to be the Musicology CD cover photo. 
[Edited 11/6/05 2:01am] Sam Goody here had it for $23.....and you know that was the only Kate Bush album their store ever had. That's Kate too.... that pic. is just adorable. I see why she's so crazy about Bertie....he looks so precious. I bought it today at a store on 42nd street in manhattan across the street from byrant park. I walked in there expecting to pay close to twenty dollars.
It was marked at 10.99
They must not know it's a double disc, cause the others new cd's had the same price. I'm about to listen to it now. YEA!!!!!!  | |

The first 4 songs alone make this one of her best, right up there with the kick inside and Hounds wow

I was really looking forward to hearing the song Pi because I used to have it memorised to 500 places, and when I heard it, I knew she had got some decimal places incorrect..and she has!!
