I know what you mean. As I said recently, I haven't been this excited about any album in ages! I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. I think my poor housemates are getting a bit p'd off with the Kate overload at the moment, though.

Hehehe. "Sorry mate, but your trial period is over and we have decided we have to let you go..." Thanks both, for the reviews. It gives a liltte insight into the album. I love the way pressure is building in me too. I haven't been as hyped for an album since Prince's Gold Experience and even that was a let-down. I am sure Kate will make me wonder again. I like that aspect about her music, unlike, let's say; Coldplay...

Bring on the album! | |

Nope! I thought it looked a bit old! Which era is that from? Just been to buy the 'King Of The Mountain' single with 'Sexual Healing' as the B-side. Lovely slipcase/picture of Kate on the single. (It's the one released recently - the close-up, without the hat).

Has anyone heard "Sexual Healing" here yet? I have bought the King of the Mountain single last Friday here in Germany and I found the B-side a bit boring. Her voice on it sounds great but the music isn´t very inspired in my opinion. Most people on the Kate-Forums rave about it though.

It's not the best cover in the world, but I love where the pipes first come in- they sorta sound like a electric guitar to begin with!?! Also only someone like Kate Bush can make something like "Sexual Healing" sound so Celtic "There is no such thing in life as normal..."

Two new reviews...
1st one is from Music Week: "12 years out of the spotlight has done little to dim either Bush's allure or her musical potency. Indeed, she sounds as vital as ever on this 16-track, two-CD set - a dense, hypnotic album that couldn't have come from anyone else. As interesting musically as it is lyrically, Aerial takes in samba, classical, folk and even a touch of drum & bass, but it is the narrative, arrangements and production that elevate it into something special." 2nd one is from a German magazine... (roughly translated from the german) "The Enigma speaks, during 84 minutes, after 12 years of break. Kate Bush, in the meantime, 47 and the biggest British pop artist of all times, allows us to participate in more than decades-long work. And one will need a while to digest this concept side-divided double album. Since also one like her feels pressure to have to confirm her status. She acts stylistically broadly, she does it electronically, piano-esque, folky; sometimes even all of it all at once. Kate Bush wants to grab you, be convincing, impress; she wants that we solve tasks and overcome hurdles. For that purpose she renounces vocal escapades, puts all virtuosity in the construction of the compositions, and none follows a typical pattern. These range from small dramas up to big epics full of tension. They are pulsing from piano-hammer beating, widened by synthetic symphony, rhythmicized by beats between tribal and danceable. "Spatial and acoustic music - plus a lot of drums ", she says. Plus an unsightly esoteric priming, one must complement. With this album ornithologists will be joyous. Kate Bush twitters with the birds, we hear screech owl, blackbirds, we are fed on a strangely nostalgic physical mysticism. And are released as if we may dedicate ourselves to an ethereal lounge pop-song like "Nocturn" which makes a Hypnotist jobless more than 8,5 minutes. However, not it may be the single and (of course) also not in his folkloric severity in court music reminding "Bertie" (dedicated to her son), but "King of the Mountain" coming along on quiet soles. Synthie-strings flatten a plain into which TripDub drums may then ram monoliths. With his linear increase, his higher and higher piling up sound layers the song is a risky single. But this simply belongs to the status of the biggest British artist of all times: Not to make it easy. And exactly this makes "Aerial" immensely lasting. For other 12 years of break it will not suffice still." "There is no such thing in life as normal..."
