Nocturn is long and impressive. Slow in tempo. In the beginning there is quite mysterious choir singing, synths, Kate comes along: “On this midsummer night, everyone is sleeping…” and then describes being at the seaside and later going into the water “ we´re standing at the Atlantic”, “we´re tired f the city, of it all”. Towards the end I really loved the bits about “sky above our heads, sea around our legs, we swim further and further, we dive down”. “On a diamond night, diamond sea, diamond sky”. In the end again repeated a sky of honey, a sea of honey. A dramatic choir appears and sings something with the “aerial” in it. About 9 mins long!

Fans in the UK can see the exclusive showing of the KOTM video on Channel 4 at 10:40pm this Saturday- cannot wait...

Also heard that some people that work in 'the industry' have been invited to an Aerial listening party this Thursday at the TATE MODERN!!!- have they ever done anything like this before at the venue?
The Tate Modern is a fantastic building and I imagine that the album's sound would just surround the whole place and smother it's listeners...WOW!!!

I printed this thread off yesterday and took it home to read...

God, I'm SO thrilled!

I have to say, I haven't been this excited about a forthcoming album - even one of Prince's - in ages. It sounds absolutely wonderful. drool These next few weeks are going to be a bit of a struggle. smile

My prediction: she's obviously thrilled to bits being a mother; I reckon she may try for another baby, concentrate on that side of her life for a few more years, then come back with another album. It's almost as if 'Aerial' was released as a double to (a) make up for the 12 year wait and (b) prepare us for another drought! I hope that's not the case, though. pray

I don't know why I'm asking this but:

to those who'll be buying Aerial, will you

~ listen to it track-by-track and let the whole album seep in??

~ fast-forward each track and get a sneaky listen??

I know I'll be so tempted to hear what each song sounds like but I really want the album to take me on its' journey.

hmmm

I was wondering how you'd approach it. Whenever I buy a new album I have to fight the temptation to get a sneaky listen in. And I usually end up doing it. In this case, I think I have to let it take me on its' journey.

I might adopt some of your friends too. wink

Myself and some friends are going to a book launch of Rob Jovanovic's KATE BUSH biography on Sun.6th.
The author will read extracts from the book and then will sign copies...we will then mingle and at 12 midnight everyone will be presented with a copy of Aerial eek
I'm then going to run home and play the whole thing, just as the birds wake up and the Sun peeps through the darkness- bliss....x

wink It says 'presented' on the invite, but I fear that we will all be bundled into the back of a van and taken to HMV and made to pay!!!
Oh well, at least we will all have the album soon... biggrin

I have some friends who are actors and the theatre where they produce most of their work is the venue for the book signing/reading...
My partner is a complete Kate nut and it was their Birthday- so everyone thought it to be the perfect pressie-
though they still want the pleasure of walking into a record shop and buying a BRAND NEW album by Kate- afterall it's been SO long.
Thanks for all your positive responces to the posts-
I love finding out cool info and false rumours- passes the time between work and sleep!!! wink

wink WOW, well done- my boxset just had the normal versions.
Hopefully they will do something special with these issues apart from 'original artwork'.
The information is still in it's early stages, so we may get an update with more info... question

Just clicked on the pic-
You do indeed have the Japanese version and, according to my other half, if the Kick Inside has a different cover to the normal version-
then put it somewhere safe and insure it- wink
