New earth wind and fire ![]() I sampled this album at a record store, and its pretty funky there is one track that i really love of this album "LOVELY PEOPLE" That song is just funk, with the help of one of the black eyed peas, also they did a good copy of "I like the way U move" lol pretty funky too, just shows 40 years down the line they still have it! ![]() ![]() I’m going to give it another try some time. I’m not beyond being able to like it, but there are so many new albums that I want to listen to lately. For now, this one’s on the back burner. One of my favorite parts of EWF songs is their horn section, and to hear those live sounds be replaced by a keyboard run really takes some getting used to. Maybe I’m being unfair, because I can accept it by other artists. It’s harder for me to accept it from EWF.

no live horns? wtf?
i was going to buy this but now forget it. Space for sale...

This needs clarification. There are live horns, but there's a lot more keyboard guitar than real guitar and when there is guitar there is only one. Also most of drums are canned e-drums.
It's a good album that I really liked the first week I got it, but I took it out the cd player and put in the new SOULIVE (which has horns, guitar, bass from Hammond organ and vocals). I guess I'm bored by EWF. ![]() [Edited 10/5/05 11:53am] test

Really? All of them? Cuz it doesn't sound like it. You'll have to be more specific, cuz all the tracks do not have horn arrngements on them. test

Horns arranged by Keith Harris Co-arranged by Jerry Hey Trumpets: Jerry Hey and Gary Grant Trombone: Reggie Young Saxophone: Gary Bias These same players appear on other tracks as well.So there is a substantial amount of live horns on this album, certainly more than you will find on most new R&B albums.

"This Is How I Feel" is my jam ![]() I was driving around town, blasting this song. It's the perfect party jam.If Sanctuary Records is smart, they will release this as a single.Out of all the songs on the album, this is the one that has the most potential to be a smash hit.It features Big Boi,Kelly Rowland and Sleepy Brown, which should help it make it onto the radio. Am I the only one who loves this track?

I was just clarifying that it wasn't some lame, inferior 128 kbps rip from a torrent site. I've already got a stack of CDs to buy that I cannot afford. Might as well add one more to the list.

Is "Elevated" the one with Floetry rapping on it? 'Cause that track is mind blowing! Easily my favorite on the album. Just the chord progression and Phillip Bailey's vocal performance alone.... damn!

Yes...Floetry appear on that tune. I was leery of a rap connection, but somehow this one works really well.....very soothing delivery by Floetry, and Phil's voice is a nice counterpoint.

"Elevated" is the one song that I'm not really crazy about ![]() It's a little too hip-hop for me,and it's basically a Floetry track with EW&F as guest vocalists.Likewise,I'm not really impressed with the other song they recorded with Floetry ("Let Me Love You",a bonus track on the Target Stores version of this CD).
