To those fans in the US....the 'Dynamite' DualDisc has finally been released.I bought it last week and it is excellent. You get the entire album on the CD side. Then, flip over to the DVD side and you get the entire album in enhanced stereo, plus 'The Making of the Feels Just Like It Should video',which is very interesting and funny at times. Finally, you get the videos for the first two singles: "Feels Just Like It Should" and "Seven Days In Sunny June".I can't see why more artists and bands don't release their CDs in DualDisc format. The fans get more bang for their buck. It's incredible!!

The US leg of the 'Dynamite' tour begins in a few weeks.I'll be seeing them on November 5.The single "Feels Just Like It Should" seems to be finally catching on in America;it is currently at #6 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts.Hopefully, the single "Seven Days In Sunny June" will follow suit (the remixes are great).A third single has already been chosen (at least for the U.K.),it will be "(Don't)Give Hate A Chance".

The album didn't break any new ground with me, it was just a continuation of the last one. But that's not bad wink I just had hoped this band would become more adventurous as they went but it seems that JK has set his sights on the disco funk sound.

They really kick ass live though smile !!

The song "Electric Mistress" should be sent to the clubs. It's the strongest dance track on the album.

you seem so disconnected
but when I turn you on,you're so effective

This is what a recent setlist looks like.Surprisingly, they're not performing "Virtual Insanity" at many of their shows, but this could change when they reach the U.S.

Canned Heat
Space Cowboy
Cosmic Girl
Revolution 1993
Little L
Seven Days In Sunny June
Dynamite
Light Years
Love Blind
Use The Force
Black Capricorn Day
Love Foolosophy
Time Won't Wait
(Don't) Give Hate A Chance
Alright
Deeper Underground

as far as I can remember, it was almost the same setlist in Salzburg (Austria) last Sunday. but Love Blind and Give hate a chance were missing. Yep, I was there, and it was a good show and I had a great time, no doubt. The band was very professional, Jay was on top of things, the crowd went nuts, everything perfect. Good entertainment, very good show. But was it truly "great"? Outstanding? Something to tell my grandchildren about in 30 years from now? To be honest... not really...

So here are my critical observations. First, even though one can't complain about the musicians who did a perfect job musically, I missed any form of chemistry within the band... I got the feeling, that they just did their job like others go to the office and yeah... well, that's about it, isn't it? They didn't give the impression that they REALLY enjoy their job and are in it with the others for the FUN factor instead of only making ends meet. But fun and joy and the excitement in playing and jamming together is mainly what makes a truly GREAT live act, isn't it?

Second complaint: some essential ommissions from the tracks he played, some personal faves and some hits... and even though I knew about his recent concert tracklistings I was still secretly hoping for tracks like Too Young To Die, Blow your mind, Stillness in time, Picture of My Life, Corner of the earth, Half the man etc. hell yes, even Virtual Insanity was absent...

Third complaint: why the hell doesn't he get himself a horn section??? beside the band, there's legions of folks for light, sound, stage etc. in his crew, so he should also have a few spare bucks for a little musical spice?! I didn't exactly expect a full blown orchestra including strings & shit like we get on the albums, but hey... one trumpet, one trombone and one saxophone shouldn't be that dfficult to get?! Now come one Jay....

Having said all that, once again let me add that it WAS a good show, and I do not regret going there. Despite the fact, that he's mainly a cut & paste musician, Jamiroquai is still one of my fave current acts around these days, and I enjoy ALL of their albums tremendously, also the new one (just to get back on the original topic smile )
Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

I think a house remix of a sub-par disco song would be terrible. But that's just me.

you know what,if it were up to me,these would be the next singles from the album:

"Black Devil Car"
"Love Blind"

notice that I didn't choose any of the more disco-y songs as singles.I think they need to showcase their musical diversity (which the first single did). Many people dismiss them as a retro disco/funk band, but a song like "Black Devil Car"---with it's harder edged rock sound---would really take listeners by surprise.Likewise,"Love Blind" has a rock feel to it.

But,just to keep their dance music fans happy,I'd release "Electric Mistress" to the clubs.Make some killer remixes and send out to club DJs.

im loving dynamite, starchild, electric mistress and 7 days ,,even the first single grew on me ..i love it now ,

ye i have been a fan for years and admittedly,(and i get cursed whenevr i voice this particular opinion) but i found funk oddessey to be far removed from the sound i became accostomed to hearing and therefore was a little disapointed..of course its still a quality album,,but m,y least fave and i feel dynamite is a much more accurate depiction of jamiroquais style that i fell in love with ...commercially friendly or not ..

looking fward to reading sum of ure reviews of theyre upcoming gigs ,,,

I hope they release "Dynamite" as a single. That track is almost as bumpin' as "Little L." It is also on my list for songs I need to buy on iTunes. thumbs up!

What is that? Is it a two sided disc that has a CD on one side and a DVD on the other side? Also, is it compatable with general CD players or is it just limited to DVD players?

No, not yet. I didn't know it was out yet. Is there any uptempo funk on it?
