They were probably pissed cuz it was an original drum loop they actually did themselves. YES! I recall that too. As far as I know it was the first time she did so I had heard of. I heard that she wasn't the first to lift that Drum Sample though...it was Book of Love's Alice Everyday, if I remember correctly. Listen honey, Europe didnt give a FUCK about you when you were a struggling nobody. If you'd never made it big in the U.S. first (where you're FROM) you wouldn't have the life you have. And titling your album "American Life" and then bitching about being called 'un-American' with your phony british accent and your English country manor lifestyle spread in Vogue... damn that annoys me. anyway, sorry. i am excited for the new record but damn that bitch can get on my last nerve. maybe she's worried her only fans are all over there now. For one, Europe supported "American Life"....America, not so much. That might be it.... I don't think she favors them that much. Consider the fact that when she tours, she comes here first (right?). Also, the fact that she still releases maxi singles proves she still loves her fans. I'd be surprised if she didn't release one for "Hung Up", even though the genre is pretty much dead.

I like how the new song is shaping up. It's very catchy. But what does everyone think of the Abba riff...in terms of not the riff itself, but that Madonna had to (and am using this very lightly) "resort" to sampling a very famous song (cleverly I might add) as the main hook for her new single. I am hoping this is not signalling that she needs to resort to sampling tactics that all of the other "followers" do to get a hit single..which is ripping a main riff of a song and creating an entire song wrapped around the sample. I like the Abba sample! I like it a lot... (what movie/show is that from?). Seriously, I thought it was a terrible idea but it works. Sounds good. I don't see Madonna becoming Puffy. I don't think this will be common for her. However, "Bedtime Stories" did use lots of samples ("Erotica" had it's fair share, I believe) but they were far more subtle.

I like the Abba sample in Madonna's song. It's a very subtle touch, unlike so much of today's R&B and hip-hop,in which they base the entire song around a well-known sample. The Abba sample only appears in the chorus. For the most part, whenever Madonna uses samples (such as on the 'Ray Of Light' CD),it's very subtle and low-key.The samples complement the song, but it is not used to make up for a missing melody.
